The pool area is not big enough for all the apartments, and they don't have enough sunbeds, if it was able to accommodate any more. These are also of poor quality (not adjustable). If you thought the Germans were bad, then you need to see the brits putting towels out at night, only to use them for an hour in the afternoon. The staff really cant be bothered with the brits, I speak very good spanish and have overheard the rude staff disrespecting their paying clients on numerous occasions. There are no events (apart from 1 hour at night) suitable for under 14's. The entertainment staff were good at their job, but it became tedious and noisy when you are trying to relax. The food is ok, but again repetitive. The whole resort gets very dirty, their plastic cups and cigarette butts everywhere. The main problem with the resort is the Brits, they couldn't care that their children were throwing things in the pool, playing tap door run, and generally requiring ASBOS. Their parents were busy getting drunk in the bar. The reps are very eager to get you to the 'Meet and Greet' as their trips are very expensive. e.g. the volcano trip from Thompson was 10/pp more than the local excursion business. If you want a holiday, that lets you experience a council estate, then this is for you, and even includes rude staff.

Los Ficus Hotel - Lanzarote was a brilliant holiday, especially at the Ficus Apartments. The entertainment staff was so good, Leanne and Billy, they just bounce of each other. The morning entertainment was volleyball, killer darts, killer pool, water polo and football, which I got involved in. The evening entertainment was bingo etc. and my favourite song and dance which was 'Shake it up, shake it up'. I tried everything to get a superstar t-shirt which in the end I got. The food was very good. The rooms were good as well, the bar and pool area was very clean. I would say to anyone it is the place to go.

We booked for a week to the Ficus back in January for this May. We were really excited when we had booked and were looking forward to it. We decided to check up on the hotel using the internet and we were horrified to read all the bad comments that we saw. But I can honestly say hand on heart that the people who have left these poor opinions must be snobs, or stayed at a completely different hotel. It was great, the food was amazing with so much to choose from, drinks constantly, massive pool and very nice spacious rooms. I envy anyone who is going. You will love it. The entertainment team are good too!

From start to finish our stay in Lanzarote was brilliant. The hotel was wonderful, the staff were friendly, the food was out of this world. The apartment was spacious and absolutely spotless. The entertainment was brilliant, so funny. Something going on most of the day for kids, teenagers and adults alike. The pool was lovely, especially when it got too hot. Without that wonderful sea breeze, we would have been burnt to a crisp. We would recommend Ficus Hotel to everyone. The whole island is worth a visit. We can honestly say it has been one of the best holidays we have had, it was that good we didn't want to come home. We will definately go back. We would give it 10/10. We were there between 20th july till 30th july 2006. Tour Operator: Thomas Cooke

Myself, my sister and two kids had a fabulous holiday at Los Ficus. Helpful staff, friendly and a good variation on the meals everyday. Something for everyone. The hotel and surroundings were kept extremely clean. The apartments were nice too, clean and spacious. The pool was on the cold side but we went March 29 - 5 April 2007, so the sun wasn't extremely hot. Had 6 fabulous days of beautiful sun and the wind is nice when the sun's out. It can get a bit chilly when the sun isn't out so pack at least one jumper! Good entertainment days and evening, plenty of things to do for the kids as well. Would definitely recommend it!Lanzarote, Costa Teguise and Los Ficus as a great family holiday location.
