I signed my 4 year old daughter into the mini club and when I went to pick her up, I found her wandering along the lagoon beach front alone. She had wandered off from the mini club and the staff hadn't noticed she was gone. Luckily she went onto the lagoon beach and not the coastal rocks or road, which the mini club also lead onto. The staff didn't give a damn. The girl said "sorry but we are busy" and the manager said that they were responsible for providing activities for the children but not for looking after them. That's not what I was told when I signed her in. None of the staff in the mini club had any qualifications or childcare experience). It was a disgrace. Our room was dusty, the pools were freezing, the entertainment was diabolical. It is a two or three star hotel at the most. If you must go, don't put your children in the mini club. And by the way, the lagoon is stagnant and filthy - the photos on their site are totally re-touched.

The Sands Beach Villas Resort was a great trip! Reading the other comments I didn't know what they where talking about! It sounds like a whole different hotel! The service from staff is great, the area is spot on! I and my family have been 3 times already and this is our 4th year! We cannot fault it, apart from the aparments on the top left of the hotel area where a bit too small for a family of 4, but apart from that the hotel is great, and I would recommened it to everyone, and me and my family shall continue going!

My wife and I were there with our 2 kids in April and we couldn't fault it. Would go back in a minuute. The mai tai bar is excellent, best kebabs on the island. Popeye's in the square gives the best breakfast cooked up by the great hosts, Scott and Gill.

I thought The Sand Beach Villas Resort was very pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Apartment was lovely. The only thing I would warn you of is that the gym which is advertised on the website is only open from 8am until 12pm and costs 6.50 euros a day!!

What a hole! This was sold as a 4* and even the Cosmos rep there said it was barely 3*. Could be great, except the accommodation we were eventually given, having been told that what we went into first was used as staff accommodation (dirty, mould on the walls, dirty linen), was a pit. The beds in both villas were broken, the bed linen was dirty, we didn't see a maid the whole time we were there, cockroaches everywhere - when i complained to Reception I was given a can of insect spray. No lifeguards at the pools - black mould on the steps of the pools. Broken glass that I had to clear up. All in all - disgusting. We paid an extra 500 to move to another resort. Don't let the pictures fool you, this place is a pit!

Sorry..... to anyone who is looking forward to going but we just couldn't rough it any longer. We had booked for 2 weeks but just about made the week, with a lot of moanin "i wanna go home " from me......it was cold dirty, full of ants, and the villas, dont even pretend to be 2*we got one the first flight home it cost over £1600 for this 5* complex for two weeks and i would have paid that again to get home. Dont get me wrong it looks great(from the outside). Trust me stay elsewhere or insist on one at the front ......show houses...nice idea just didnt work..not for us.

Our one bed apartment was comfortable and nicely furnished. Being on the left-hand side meant we had the sun on our balcony all day. Two couples on the shady side moved apartments - said their rooms felt cold and damp - so that's something to bear in mind if you're not staying in the height of the season. Weather was warm and sunny, but quite windy at times. Give the Hacienda restaurant a miss, it's rubbish! Go out of the resort to find lots of good eating places. Would say it's a resort to suit all ages and especially great for children, with lovely swimming pools on the doorstep. Tour Operator: Travel Counsellors

This complex has been neglected, the maid service is poor, beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on.
