The all-inclusive Almond Smugglers Cove resort was taken over by Almond in 2007 and they have spent a lot of money bringing this once aged holiday resort back into present times. The rooms had air conditioning, a necessity in this climate in both the bedroom and lounge. We had a garden view suite so others may differ in layout. It had LCD TVs with all the cable channels (mainly USA) and we got the latest English Premier League games - an added bonus. The rooms were very clean and were mopped and tidied, daily. Bath towels and bedding changed two-daily. Honeymooners got plenty of freebies if they know in advance - flowers, a candlelit meal, massage treatments... The bed was huge (a queen) and helped us to have some of the best night's sleep ever! It had three restaurants all different tastes with great service. A beautiful cove and a secluded beach that didn't have the hassle of incomers like you would get elsewhere, due to all beaches in St Lucia being open to the public! Many watersport activities are available for free at this all-inclusive haven.
It was 1 hour 40 mins from airport but worth the trip to the top of the island, which is the most select area.
Almond Smugglers Cove offered wonderful in Castries, St Lucia - Jane Brown. Date of travel: Jan 2008
We thought that Almond Smugglers Cove offered great accommodation in Castries, St Lucia. The rooms were always clean and the staff was always willing to help. The trip from the airport to the hotel was quite long – about two hours, but once we arrived, it was gorgeous.
