I just spent an incredible week at LeSport The Body Holiday where I had the opportunity to have a treatment in the new Ayurvedic Temple. I have never experienced anything like this in any Western spa, the level of relaxation was deeper than I had previously believed possible. The hotel was also very classy, I lay under a palm tree on a soft cushioned sun bed sipping iced lime squash and wishing I could stay at Le Sport for much longer!! Highly recommend this very special resort.

What is happening to LeSport? Having recently returned I am very disappointed that they over promise and under deliver: most of all in the Oasis Spa. Treatments are constantly cancelled and rescheduled (they wait for you to get there and ruin your day around their schedule). The excuse is always the same - lack of staff/ staff sickness. When you are lucky enough to get a treatment it is at least 10-15 minutes late but still manages to finish on time so you might get 35-40 minute treatment. The treatments are not well performed and are certainly not up to the standards that Elemis sets .e.g The Devils Mint body scrub was performed using table salt instead! The facial was performed using the incorrect products for my skin type and the therapist could not even perform a simple skin analysis. Aromastone massage used their "own blend" oil instead of the Elemis oil. (they think guests won't know the difference? - Well I do). I wonder if Elemis are aware that their excellent name is being dragged through the dirt because of this? Some therapists have only received 7 weeks training so I am concerned about their anatomy knowledge. The majority of the staff is very unhappy and earning £2/hour can you blame them? The spa management is totally unorganized and Junior Simons (manager) inexperienced and has no knowledge of how the body works, he is a poor example of a manager and I can only presume most of the problems stem from this. The supervisor Lorraine is rude and arrogant (a comment made by numerous guests we spoke to). The Specialized Skin Clinic does not have staff that is qualified to perform the La Therapie facial and as they use a very advanced formula of Glycolic peel I would strongly advise against having these treatments. If the incorrect procedure is used or the concentrate left on the skin too long you can burn the skin causing permanent irreversible damage. During lunch at the Deli I was unfortunate enough to sit near Eve Barnard the Health and Well Being Director (and owner's wife). She was totally unprofessional and I could overhear her discussing a member of staff in very derogatory terms - I really could not believe it. No wonder the spa staff is always sick with such poor management from the top! The rooms are in a terrible state and desperately need updating. According to other guests this has been the case for many years. The food is ok - although it looks like it is reused from meal to meal and there is a terrible stench in the Club house (raw sewage). The staff at night is definitely the friendliest. TAO is nice but over rated and Cariblue is very average. In the morning they have a huge bird problem. I booked this holiday because of the advertised Elemis Spa treatments and all inclusive aspect but it was not worth it. People who write the "good" reports obviously have not done much traveling or they would realize this resort leave a lot to be desired. Would I return - not a chance.
