Just returned from an excellent week in Zanzibar. We went to Matemwe after spending a night at Emerson and Green in Stone Town (very romantic). Matemwe was just what we were hoping it would be - intimate and very relaxing. The hotel has a wonderful setting looking over the sparkling Indian Ocean. The beach is white and the sea is an impossible turquise. The snorkling is great and its also very close to the Mnemba Atoll which offers world-class scuba diving. The staff were efficent and friendly. I'd recomment Matemwe to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
