Mbuyuni Beach Village is located in Zanzibar on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. The azure blue waters are protected by a reef and are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The bungalows are well furnished with a perfect blend of comfort and style. They all have private balcony, Mosquito nets and Ceilingmore

I have stayed two times at Mbuyuni Beach Villa with my two teenage sons and both times really liked it. The location is very nice and quiet. The manager was friendly and really went out of his way to try rectify severals issue we encountered to him. The hotels rooms are very comfortable, the tides tends to go a bit far way out during the low tide, but during our last trip they were building a new swimming pool in the hotel. All in all is good value place!

On behalf of Mbuyuni Beach Village, we would like to respond the below review from the clients who stayed with us. Is better when the guests know the 2 sides of the story. After Mr. David Matthews stayed with us for 1 night, him and his family decided that our hotel was not for them and they checked out the following morning to go to another hotel, to Paje village. Then unfortunately on their way to Paje, about 2 miles away from our place, they got attacked (away from our place) and strangely they keep accusing us of getting involved with attack, which is not true at all. We know how upset they must have been, but we feel like they are looking for someone to blame. As far as we know the attack happen at 9:30 am and they came back to us at 1:00pm with the complaints. If this thing happened close to our hotel other guests who were staying with us at that time would have seen this, but no one witnessed this as it happened 2 miles away from our place, so it could be anyone, especial as Zanzibar beach is not a private beach, it is a public beach which is used by anyone at anytime. The police have done the full investigation and no one from our hotel was involved in this. Like any other hotel owners, we are against the attack and theft on tourists at all time. That's why we have 24 hours security at our hotel but we can not be held responsible for any attack that take place miles away from our place.

We stayed at Mbuyuni Beach Village for 4 nights in early Aug. After safari, we were met by their driver at Airport. The beach was very quiet with plenty of beach beds. The sea was warm, however the tide does go out a long way during the day for few hours. I must save my praise for the staff, they were friendly and efficient. I would recommend this place for complete relaxation and early nights holiday. All in all it is very relaxed and quiet place , a good option after safari. The only downside news, we found that the services at restaurant were a bit slow.

We stayed in Mbuyuni Beach Village at the end of Aug '09. We liked the place and the location. For sure is not a resort or a five stars hotel but it was ideal place to stay for us. It felt like we were staying at good friends' house. This is a great place to stay for the value. Is a nice place but you have to keep in mind that it is a shack-by-the-sea kind of place, the rooms are very clean but basic. The manager picked us up at airport when we arrived, there were two other couples, then after few days those couples left and we had the place to ourselves until the last two days of our stay, when other guests arrived. The only drawbacks are that we found the boat trips were a bit expensive.

Mbuyuni Beach Village - We are American residents in Tanzania. We had reservations for 3 nights at Mbuyuni Beach Village from July 16-19, 2009. We stayed one night and the accommodations were horrible: bad beds, dirty bathroom, toilet didn't flush, fridge didn't work, and the beach is not safe to swim because of rocks. But the worst is that after we canceled and decided to walk down the beach to a better hotel at 9:30 am, we were violently attacked by two men with machetes. One put his machete to my wife's neck and the other to my face in front of our 5 year old son! They took everything we had, including our passports, money, and valuables amounting to almost $2000!! But worse is that we felt that our lives were threatened and that had we resisted we could have been hurt. I went to the police and there is a full investigation about Mbuyuni's management involvement. We can't prove they set us up, BUT THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO KNEW WE WERE ON THE BEACH!! I went back to the hotel with an inspector and a local and we all felt that the manager Mowsa knew about it and was involved. This is a scam hotel, don't ever go there, they deserve to go out of business.

Mbuyuni beach Village
Mbuyuni Beach Village is set in the great location in Jambiani -Zanzibar, the bungalows are surrounded by lovely tropical gardens. The place has a great atmosphere and very relaxing. The staff are friendly and real helpful. suitable for singles/couples and families. The prices are very reasonable at their restaurant. We had a great time at this place. Perfect place to enjoy Zanzibar’s distinctive, mellow pace.

We had an amazing time!
We spent 1 week at this place during the X-mass time '07. The place was recently -opened, but we really enjoyed our time, the staff were amazing the location of the hotel is great and quiet. We stayed in the lovely thatched bungalow close to the beach. We also did Diving and Snorkeling which was great. The hotel is about 7 minutes walk from the centre of Jambiani village. They also have a restaurant that serves lunch/dinner mainly sea food, the prices is ok too!
