The hotel was super, with the breakfast to die for - just what you need. I didn't miss it one morning. Our hotel was located on Patong Beach - what a buzz.

I travelled to Phuket in January 2004, less than a year before the Tsunami and ended my trip with a night's stay at the exquisite Burasari Resort. We had backpacked round Thailand and arrived in Phuket on a ferry on our second last day, tired and dirty. We walked around Patong with heavy (20kg) packs on our backs and eventually found ourselves at Burasari. Two porters greeted us, taking our packs from us and brought ice cold juice and wet towels to wipe the sweat from our faces. The reception staff were friendly and efficient, the porters were just as helpful and smiley and the rooms were beautiful, cleaned daily, with very tasteful decor. The buffet breakfasts were outstanding with a wide variety of juices, breads, meats, egg dishes, fruits and more and the best part was you could eat as much as you liked! I would advise getting to the breakfast area early as you'll get the best choice of food and the chefs aren't as busy as later on. The pool is huge and you can swim without being disturbed by anyone. It acts as a courtyard with the rooms, the spa and reception surrounding it on all four sides. I think this resort is popluar as a last night stay with many South African travel agents as we weren't the only Saffas there! Our transfer to the airport in the morning arrived slightly late but we were notified by reception about this and they offered us free drinks while we waited. I was well impressed by Burasari and would recommend it to anyone staying in Phuket. It is close to the main stip of Patong with shops, restaurants and the beach only a few minutes walk away.
