We love Thailand and thought we'd like to rent a villa this time to get a taste of real life on the island. Paid 6 thousand dollars 30 days prior to our arrival and felt confident all would be well, the villa looked fantastic on the web, we were so wrong! Got there and the place was filthy, it smelt bad and was in a bad area. There was construction all around the place and there was no privacy from neighbouring properties, they were just so close together. The kitchen was rank, greasy, the microwave had food splattered inside it! We discovered later that the smell was originating from the shower drains that didn't actually work, they were blocked and were unusable, the water would gather at the bottom and form a soup with dead flies and bugs. The toilet hadn't been cleaned and the toilet brush was chunky. All this for $550 per night! The towels and sheets had mysterious stains. It was just horrible. After 10 hours on a plane we were just stunned. We left and got ourselves into a nice resort, The Muang Samui, to finally have a shower and feel fresh. We sent an email to the property managers of the villa explaining all that we had been faced with along with some photos we had taken of the dirty furniture etc. They believe the villa was in immaculate condition and have refused to refund any money. We are not fussy people, we worked hard for this holiday and at $550 per night don't think that it's asking too much that the villa be cleaned with showers that work. They advertise a villa with a garden view, no garden but tarps over dirt from a landslide. They advertise a lovely rooftop BBQ area,what you get is a barren wasteland, and that's if you make it up the steep rusty access stairs. It all looked so good on the web, the reality is a different story. So be very wary if you are thinking about dealing with this company, they will take your hard earned money regardless of the stinking accomadation they provide. The owner refused to refund us but had the gall to offer us $450 not to leave a bad review on the web. We said "no thanks"....we need to warn other travellers. Take care and good luck!
