This Resort caters for the intoxicated. The place is a dump - on entering the room it smelled awful. The Manager Mr. Scott, lied about their 50% non-refundable policy (which he never mentioned). Staff are rude and the room given to us was cramped and the linen filthy.

My wife and I stayed for 14 nights at the Tropikist in July, and we must admit we really enjoyed our stay there. We only encountered great staff and had no porblems there. The GM Sammy is back at the helm and things seems to be going in the right directions. We stayed in a standard room (84) and it was really nice, has a balcony with a great view of the ocean, the room the was cleaned daily and fresh towels given daily, pool towels given out at the front and the staff always willing to help with what they can. We never had any problems for food, had breakfast daily, lunch and dinner (yes we stayed all inclusive) the hotel was fully booked and we had no problem with food or drink and nothing ran out whilst we were there. Many people complain for no reason and those reports should not even be considered for whilst we were there, we encountered a couple who moaned about everything and said they would complain when they got back home, but there was nothing to complain about. On check out day 2 electricity poles fell across the roadway and all the guests had to walk to the airport. The manager (Sammy) informed all the guests that the airlines was flying earlier, and even got his staff to assist guests carry their luggage to the airport as no vehicle could enter the hotel. These people are truly trying and no justice is done to them with negative reports and complainers and moaners...

We have been going to the Tropikist for 15 years and I agree it has gone down the pan the last time we went I got ripped off by the sum of $600 US, by the owner. He gave me a credit note after 6 months arguing about the over charge then tells me I can only use it if we stop at the hotel. I cannot use it in the bar or restaurant so I told him to put it where the sun does not shine because we will never stop at the Tropikist again.

My wife & I stayed at Tropikist for 6 nights in May 2007. For the price the service and room was more than we expected. Make sure that you get to breakfast early otherwise everything will be gone, but that's more a comment against the amounts other guests pile on thier plates than the hotel's catering abilities. Customer-care in the Caribbean I've generally found to be of a lower standard than the UK, and the staff at the Tropikist are no worse than other hotels I've stayed at. Reception staff are slow - but this is the Caribbean. Things move at a slower pace.

This hotel has recently changed its management. I could find no fault at all I would even up its three star rating to a four. Tour Operator: My Travel

DO not ever stay at Tropikist Hotel in Tobago, apparently they are of the opinion that your credit card is free domain for all and sundry unauthorised charges, the service is pathetic, the staff unfriendly. We had no water in our room for 12 hours out of the 72 hours we stayed there and the matter of a refund to my credit card was resolved after 6 heated conversations between me and their reservations manager and a week had passed. To this day I have as yet to receive an apology from anyone at tropikist .

The service at the Tropikist hotel is good with a lovely seaview and swimming pool with bar. Walking distance to the airport. When travelling to this beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago, DO NOT consider travelling through Constellations Travel Service. They are none caring people. They have a very high reputation for terrible delays and lost of luggage.

Do NOT ever consider staying at Tropokist Hotel in Tobago - we arrived more relaxed than when we left. The service - for want of a loose adjective - is akin to that expected in a penal institution, and the food makes McDonalds look positively attractive. Tour Operator: Indigo
