I have just returned from a weeks holiday in the El Mouradi Djerba Manzel hotel with my friend and her 12-year-old daughter and after reading the reviews before leaving I was quite concerned as we were 3 females travelling alone. All I can say is I cannot understand what people are moaning about!!
The place was fantastic, the rooms were clean, and tidied on a daily basis.
As far as things being taken from the safe is concerned, I find it very hard to believe as I left my mobile and my ipod out on charge on several occasions and had no problems.
The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help even if they didn't fully understand English.
I think that considering that the English have only been going to the island for a year or so the staff are doing really well with learning the language. As far as I am concerned they speak far better English than I speak Arabic, or French, Italian and German for that matter!! English is after all about their 4th language, how many brits can say they know that many languages!
The food was great and different every day. The pools were excellent and the staff at the fresh water pool were very attentive and helpful. We did the catamaran trip and saw dolphins which was great and very well priced.
I loved the photographers coming round taking photos that you could buy later - what a fantastic idea! We also has some sunset photos taken which were lovely and we were under no pressure to buy them if we didn't want to. The photographer did an excellent job of bringing my friends 12-year-old out of her shell!
All in all what a fantastic holiday, I will definitely be recommending it to other people and I would definitely go there again myself. I think that people are too eager to complain and don't take the time to compliment, hence my essay!
Please, please if you have booked a holiday here and are worrying after reading the reviews, don't, there's no need. I'm sure you'll love it!
