I have just returned from this holiday today and would just like to state it was the worst holiday I have ever been on. We had food poisoning objects like pieces of metal in the food. One night we had chicken Kebabs on skewers the following night in the chicken pie was all the skewers where they had used the chicken. The dinner hall was full of flies which were covering the food. The rooms stank to high heaven and the reason they told us for this was we were by the drains. The entertainment was non existent unless you were French or German and even with this NO entertainment took place. It was pot luck what drink you received as they didn't seem to care when you ordered a specific drink and bought you whatever they wanted. Half of the alcoholic drinks were not working and when they were there was hardly and alcohol in. Ice creams were only once a day for an hour. On top of this the first choice holiday rep was not interested and rude. One couple even booked to go home 3 days early !! DON'T GO .....

This is the first holiday I have been on without my parents as I have only just turned 18, I travelled out to Tunisia with 2 of my friends (girls, also 18)and stayed at Thalassa Village Skanes. We were a bit nervous before we got there from reading some of the not-so-good reviews, but as soon as we arrived there we felt at ease as everyone was so nice to us. We hardly got hassled at all! The reps looked out for us as well as other guests staying at the resort. For February the weather was really good, only one day of rain! We got on very well with 2 members of the animation team and they took us and a few other groups of people into Sousse a few times clubbing, anytime a man would try dancing with us they (Sami and Anis) would step in and look after us, it was great! We really enjoyed our stay here but wish we stayed longer then a week. We are already planning to go back there this summer. There was plenty of food to choose from at meal times, the bar waiters and restaurant waiters were very kind to us throughout our stay! Rooms were quite spacious and maids cleaned rooms daily. Overall I give Thalassa Village 10 out of 10!

I have just spent six weeks in the Thalassa Village in Skanes with my wife and found the hotel most relaxing. The food was different which is to be expected in another country and the staff were excellent and were calling all of the guests by their first name after a few days, which made you feel special and if they cared about you personally which I believe they did. The waiters were exceptional and treated every guest like royalty. When you entered the restaurant and picked your table the waiters greeted you by name and by the time you came back with your meal they had your wine on the table and as soon as you had drank half they were over offering a refill two waiters stood out (Jud & Sammy)but all the waiters were brill. The animation team were always working if not playing games with guests they were sitting having a conversation with them and looked as they were really enjoying your company, and they worked from 9.30am till after 11,30pm and sometimes later. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday as it is miles from the nearest town but my wife and went to different places by taxi which are dirt cheap(but you must haggle the price down). We shared taxis with another couple so it made them half the price.

I never had been to Tunisia before and was a bit nervous having listened to some horror stories, my advice don't listen to the stories go yourself and you can only love it temperatures soaring 40 degrees. From the moment I stepped into the hotel I was welcomed by very friendly staff and the porter took all my suitcases for me and showed me to my apartment, I felt at ease straight away, the complex was ideal very very clean wide choice of food and plenty to choose from. And the location was like a dream come true situated right on top of the beach it was so lovely having a drink from the bar looking right at the beach. All staff spoke to you everyday by calling you by your first names and would do anything to help and great with children, knew who's children belonged to who and always kept a watchful eye. A lovely friendly complex with good entertainment, clean pools great for families or couples, only one thing I found like some other people if you were Italian you got priority, which does need looking at that was the only thing that annoyed me but, I intend to travel again to Tunisia but would only stay in the Thalassa and next time no nerves as there is no need!!

The Thalassa Village has to be the best resort in Skanes. First rate food, plenty of things to do, friendly, courteous staff. Ideal for families with children, couples, or friends. Only one thing to remember, take a travel kettle as they are not supplied in the rooms, and take your own teabags as the English tea bags do tend to run out. Great choice of food, but lacking in English breakfast so we made do with scrambled egg on toast, but apart from that the food quality and quantity was extremely good. All the staff speak very good English and love English people. We were two women holidaying alone and felt very safe and secure. We will definately go to Tunisia again and stay in the same hotel. Shopping in Sousse was a little scary, but once you learn to be firm and say not interested it's fine (but you must be firm). The animation team that are responsible for the entertainment were first class, and worked so hard to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. So all in all fabulous holiday 10/10. We went with First Choice, and our rep was fantastic, always there to answer questions and let us know what was going on. Did warn us about shopping in Sousse but I think it went over our heads and we didn't pay attention. Thalassa Village in our opinion (and we went and had a look in most of the others) is the only place to stay if you want a truly wonderful holiday.

The staff from management down were anti -British. You could not get served at the bars. Unless you spoke German, French or Italian that is.Then they couldnt move fast enough. We feel it should be in the brochure as not suitable for British holiday makers. The Accommodation was not very good either. We were kept waiting in reception for 2 hrs in a temp of 44 degrees for our rooms to be allocated to us.There was raw sewage running down the beach. This was the worst holiday we have ever had. We felt sorry for couples with children. The Kiddies club was all German, Italian and French as well. English was virtually no go. Tour Operator: First choice

Thalassa Village in Skanes Tunisia was the most enjoyable holiday I have ever experienced. As a single mother travelling alone for the first time with my five year old daughter (accompanied by my niece) I was a bit nervous about the whole experience. The staff at Thalassa Village couldnt have put my mind at rest any more if they tried. They were wonderful. All the staff were fluent in many languages, when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by our first names, they'd obviously done their research, we filled in the necessary forms and were shown straight to the restaurant where we could get our evening meal. When returning to reception our key was ready for us and the porter already had our cases on a trolley ready to show us to our room. We felt like royalty. Its true that its not populated much by English visitors but the kids club staff speak all languages and include each and every child in the activities, there are even special 'Brit nights' to make you feel more included. The resort itself is very clean, the beach is gorgeous although during the rain there is the usual rubbish washed up on shore, this is soon cleared and the white sands return to being a lovely place to relax and play. There are lots of activites put on, there's plenty of choice with swimming pools which are all extremely clean, the food is absolutely wonderful with a wide range in choice. The English choices can be a minority but I think if you're going to go abroad it is ignorant to expect to eat English all the time during your stay. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and I would recommend this location to anyone who knows how to appreciate a good foreign holiday, being able to mix with the locals, try their cuisine and join in the local activities is what makes a holiday abroad seem worthwhile. If you wanted a fully English holiday then go to Butlins! My niece, myself and my daughter made some very good friends whilst we were there and it was very emotional to say goodbye at the end of the fortnight. The staff came to wave us off and it really felt like we were leaving home rather than returning home.
