We stayed at Abacus Sun Gardens in early July this year. Yes, it's basic but you get what you pay for. The food is great and there is always something for everyone. Ignore the bad reviews, its a fantastic hotel! For the people who moan that there is no English food then I suggest you stay in England. This is Turkey SO EXPECT Turkish food!!!!!!!! The only blight on our fantastic holiday was the moaning Brits we encountered. For your trips book with Pepsi who has a stall on the right as you come out of the hotel. The rafting is not to be missed

The Staff at the Abacus Sun Gardens were amazing. All were really friendly and always had a smile on their faces. We made very good friends with them all even the cleaner Zulfer!! The food was awesome, really tasty and very healthy!! Lots of salad, chicken and pasta it was very nice. The vodka is also very nice, not one hang over! You have to cross the busy road to get to the beach which is a bit scary! The beach bar directly opposite Sun Gardens is very nice and the staff there are very friendly. The rooms are basic but you have everything you need apart from a hair dryer. Altogether it was an awesome holiday!!! We are definitely going back next year. We would recommend this hotel, just don't book it with Goldtrail!

We have meet with people that were meant to stay here at the Abacus Sun Gardens but like us got moved because Abacus shut early. You lot that gave bad report about it were rude to staff, in my book you only get treated as well as you treat them, so learn to respect others may be you can have a good holiday next year. My holiday was great will go back!

The only thing that was good about the Abacus Sun Gardens was the fact we were there 1 week! After travelling for 12 hours takes over 30 minutes for them to get you into your room. Whatever you do don't pay for the aircon remote, just lift the cover and manually turn it on! Our room wasn't cleaned and the bed sheets wasn't changed nobody, came round to change them until 5pm (we arrived at the hotel at 8am). If you are after an all inclusive because of the food, I wouldn't bother with here the food is rubbish, the salad is prob the best, but one salad dish is the night before's chips, chilled and covered in tom sauce! The pool is tiny, and if you wake up any later than 9am all the best ones have gone! The beach was a bonus with it being very close to the resort but not really a sandy beach more of a pebble beach. The manager and staff are not helpful at all, there is only 1 bar out of 3 ever open, with only 1 member of staff on it so you end up queuing for about 5/10mins for a drink. The only thing that was good about the complex was the Mini Market, the lady in there was friendly, funny and made you feel welcome. We regularly purchased a bottle of vodka because free drinks stopped at 11pm, and finished our drinks on our balcony. Hotel entertainment!!!! What a pile of c**p, 3 Turkish guys, putting what music they want on, volumes either too low or too high, walking round like they own the place not chatting to anyone but the girls (under 18). I would never go to Marmutla ever again, plus we were told we would be staying in Alanya but the travel agent put us in Marmutla.

My friend and I booked at the Abacus Sun Gardens as part of an all-inclusive deal, very cheap so weren't expecting much - a clean bed and shower that worked plus non-stop sunshine was all we needed, anything else a bonus. When we arrived bleary- eyed we were a little surprised at how basic it appeared but... the friendly staff, amusing waiter, plentiful and varied food, fantastic weather and the close proximity of the warm sea soon dispelled any of these initial reservations. The beach bar opposite Jungleman Amigo's was a great bonus too - friendly and entertaining staff with belly dancing, singer, Turkish hospitality and friendly banter on tap. I had been on two holidays but despite this being the cheapest and least luxurious, this was by far the best in terms of fun and atmosphere. Great!! The lady in the shop and the resident photographer Serkhan were lovely so a big thanks to them for helping to make our holiday memorable! The beach bar staff (Hassan, Charisma and the boys) were special - we will never forget their hospitality! So thumbs up to all at the Sun Gardens.

We have just returned today from this alleged hotel !! I agree with Danny's review below. The place is not fit to house or feed pigs. The Reception Manager was aptly named Basil Fawlty for his mental attitude towards us as guests. When we arrived after a 2 hr transfer we were greeted by this man who showed us downstairs to get breakfast. Breakfast this food had never been! My pancake was freshly cooked only for me to find that is was not cooked in the middle. How revolting ! I was later told by the Manager that is how Turkish people ate theirs this of course was rubbish as the Turks eat eggs cheese and hams for breakfast. The whole hotel was filthy. Not dusted mopped or any of the outside tables wiped down. We could not even see through the glass top of the coffee tables outside they were that dirty. When we were shown our room two hours later because we did not want to book in and stay here we found it to be damp and the plaster peeling of the walls , let alone the fact it had not been cleaned and the pubic hair on our bedside table was a little off putting. The cats running round the eating area was not good either as a lady we had booked in with pointed out as it tried to bite her feet from under the table cloth. The tables were dirty along with the floor and most of the crockery oh and the lovely plastic beakers we were expected to drink out of not only at the pool side but also in the evening! Wine or vodka when you could get a drink did not quite taste the same mind you that was if you could get a drink as we were limited to one drink per person. Is that all inclusive? I don't think so! As for the Reps they were pathetic but once we found out that Goldtrail actually owned this hotel it was then we realised that this is why they stuck up for them so much. Helen and Jess were both rude and unhelpful however they could be called Reps we do not know. We showed them the state of the kitchens as the sink was full of brown greasy fatty water and they spoke to the kitchen supervisor who said they were cleaning ha ha what a laugh!! A lady on our trip fell on the beach on the first day and we had to take her to hospital to have 15 stitches in her head and when I told Jess we had to leave Christine in a non speaking health centre and needed help she basically told us to bog off and sort it with her Insurance! After a few choice words she decided to help us. She was the most rudest ignorant person I have ever met . They did not want to help us as at all. The only upside to this is we made some great friends who will be putting on their reviews very shortly I am sure. So thanks to everyone we met you know who you are! Thanks also to the lads over the road at Junglemans bar they helped us out when Christine fell and made us welcome and show us the real Turkey we knew existed not the one at Abacus !!If you want a real good night out go to Pat Foleys and enjoy the clean surroundings and excellent food. Goldtrail need to shut this place down and refurbish and re staff its a sh*t tip and not fit for animals to stay in.

This is the worst holiday we have ever had. The journey from the airport takes 2 hours, the Abacus Sun Gardens is in the middle of no were, the reps are useless, did nothing unless you wanted to buy a trip off them, anything else they vanish, the staff speak little English, entertainment is cr*p the so called entertainment team walk around as if they own the place chatting up young girls all night, the free drinks you have to get one at a time and are in plastic cups, the manager is up his own a*se, rooms are dirty, smelly, damp and dull. Beach was not to bad, but keep your eyes open for the broken bottles around the shore line and the slippery rocks. Goldtrail take note!!!!!

What can I say about this place that wouldn't offend minors.....uhhhm; nothing. This 'All inclusive' 3 star status is a joke. The rooms are dirty and the food is fowl. not to mention the rudeness and incompetence of the Goldtrial rep., which didn't add to the experience. The only added extras were the water added to the vodka and the soda to the larger. You will also find the veg served one night will find itself recycled and back on your plate covered in cheese sauce the next. This place has had to change its name three times this season in order to keep its three star status. What else is there to say...?!

Where do I begin, the Abacus Sun Gardens was a p*sstake. We expected a good quality hotel with decent food, what we got was far from it. The breakfast was disgusting, only ever a choice of eggs. If you do not like eggs you could always try the toast which when you used always came out on fire and black. The dinner was always leftovers from the previous nights meal, oh how much I loved that fish full of bones and if you did not like it hot on the night, you could try it again when they battered and served it cold on the salad bar the next day. When it comes to entertainment we had to make our own. The "animation team" was sh*t and they were useless and entertaining children on one occasion there was a mini kids disco a couple of the kids got off the stage to sit down, when they went to get back up to dance the animation team leader a.k.a. arrogant tw*t, told them to f*ck off, said they can not get up and down off the stage. (there only kids and this really bothered a lot of people)on one occasion it rained heavily and the animation team did not do anything to keep us entertained, they just sat their smoking and cleaning their CDs. I hope you like cats, if you don't just kick them cause they are everywhere crawling over your feet as you eat your meal. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff we enjoyed many nights going home drunk and talking to "bodyguard" and "cleaner" who were the night staff. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke the best English out of all the staff. The bar across the road was a laugh at times although the food they served wasn't very nice and the place wasn't clean. The staff at amigos were very friendly as well and we would generally go and talk to them through the day while on the beach. Overall not a good holiday, the hotel is the only English hotel within about a 5 mile radius everyone else was either Russian, German or Polish. I would not recommend this hotel or area to my worst enemy.

Oh boy where do I start all has been said by Sally, what a total sh*thole. the reception after 16 hours travelling was terrible, we were greeted by put your cases over there and breakfast down there the breakfast looked like the night before left overs and sour milk, what a start then showed to our rooms door opened and the smell knocked you back, after another hour and 2 rooms later we finally got a room that was habitable. The pool was dirty round the edges and one set of rickety steps to get in and out with all the beds were dirty and split the chairs at the tables were filthy and broken, tables were filthy looked like no where had been cleaned for the last year. The manager was as good as a fart in a collander and the reps no interest at all unless you wanted to buy an overpriced trip from them. Thank goodness we are now home.

What a holiday from hell. My first room was damp with bed mould and bathroom issues. Booked late but no bargain gained. If I had took my dog with me I would have booked out. You have to play frogger across the dual carriage way to get to the beach. And then you get ripped off. Do not book this place for a holiday.

Holiday from hell doesn't even cover what we feel about this place. The whole hotel was filthy, damp and stank of cat piss, the food was disgusting and usually leftovers fit for neither human or animal consumption. Staff were rude arrogant and unhelpful, and don't get me started on the reps - who are they paid to represent because it certainly wasn't us holidaymakers. They were even more rude arrogant and unhelpful than the hotel staff. When we tried to complain about anything we were told it was Turkish custom, and when we got support from about twenty other holiday makers they threatened to have us arrested for inciting a riot. Luckily we only stayed for a week, but we met people who had already been there for a week and had one week left and they were totally depressed and suicidal. The only good thing apart from getting home was the people we met who had to endure the whole ordeal with us. If you wish to keep your health and sanity then don't go with Goldtrail and stay well clear of Abacus Sun Gardens.

The Abacus Sun Gardens hotel was a good 25mins bus journey from the centre of Alanya. However it was quiet right on top of the beach. We walked out of the gates and we were on the beach. You are escorted over the road by security to the beach. The only bad thing was the staff didn't speak much English and the aircon was rubbish. We were the only two who's aircon actually worked at night out of all that spoke English there!! I'd like to go back in a few years and revisit to see if the hotel and surrounding area had been improved. We felt it was a new and upcoming town.

The holiday was a late booking and I was dubious after reading some scathing reviews, however the holiday was great. The hotel was clean, the rooms and bedding changed daily and the staff were polite and helpful. The food was great and plentiful, the beach was great, no sand thank god! Great waves and a great beach bar too, for the money you can’t complain. My only hassle was the disgusting behaviour of the Scottish and English holidaymakers; they were foul mouthed, rude and positively common, bad mannered and made me ashamed to call myself British. More like a drunken football crowd, the women being the rudest and fowl mouthed. What the poor staff had to put up with! However, this aside, I had a great time. Cheers to Goldtrail and the reps.

Our room at Abacus Sun Gardens was very basically furnished and was not too clean. We had bed linen and towels only changed once and saying anything to the rep was a waste of time. The food, although plentiful, was so monotonous with chicken for lunch and dinner every day. There were not enough sunbeds for the number of guests and on the whole everyone we spoke to could only say,"Thank heavens we're only here for a week". The bar shut every night at 10.55pm and even if you were already at the bar waiting to be served you would then have to pay for your drinks, which weren't cheap.

We only took this holiday at Abacus Sun Gardens last minute because of personal circumstances. All inclusive (what a joke) there was no entertainment the rooms were filthy, the whole hotel was very basic and the food was like pig swill. Staff some friendly, others abrupt, we have never been so disappointed. My children cried to return home there was so many people complaining that some couples had demanded flights back to the UK. This hotel shouldn't be allowed to get away with treating British holiday makers like this. This was the holiday from hell this was our first holiday in Turkey and our last.

We were only at Abacus Sun Gardens for one week, but the staff were brilliant. The accommodation was clean, the food was good and the overall holiday was brilliant. We didn't stop enjoying ourselves from the moment we arrived. I can honestly say that for the money we paid, it was a holiday to remember and we are thinking of going back later on in the year.

The Abacus Sun Gardens was a dirty, smelly, damp hotel, badly in need of renovation. I would not return here if I was paid to go. The (all male) staff were overworked & underpaid and consequently, unhelpful & they were also lecherous. Not surprisingly there is little information on this hotel, is was appalling. Air con did not work in the 3 rooms I occupied over the week-had to keep moving as rooms so damp & in need of repair. Not good considering I was pregnant and no help was provided for me to help me move rooms. Showers did not work properly either, none would remain in the wall fixture, so had to hold it to shower. Floors are never cleaned. We were told it was suitable for wheelchair users as disabled person in our party - this is not the case. Stairs everywhere. Pool very deep and unsupervised so not suitable for children who cannot swim. If you have any expectations, please do not visit this place. It's disgusting.
