This is the first time I have ever been to Turkey and stayed at Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel, and I have got to say it was the worst hotel I have stayed at. The maids stole £40 out of my room so as you do, I complained. All the receptionist did was write it down, she said that I haven't got any evidence :/ and if I take further action I will be chucked out of the hotel. The next day after the maids "cleaned" my room I found that they put DIRTY sheets and pillow cases on my bed. so me and my friend (who I was sharing a room with) hid on the balcony whilst the maid was cleaning up and she turned on our I pods (we knew because they were on the speakers so you could hear it out loud) and she turned on my phone as well. But whenever I complained they kept saying it was family run. Well it is some BIG family running that place. The next thing is the food - UGGGHHHHH, disgusting. I practically starved myself for a whole week. The only thing what was served was chicken or fish and they both looked and smelt horrible or were covered in a horrible sauce, and the puddings was so bad that me and my friend dared each other to eat it. I'm sure that over 75% of the people staying at the hotel were English so why didn't they have any English food and they call it all exclusive when you have to pay for the drinks after 11pm :/. And to top it all off, me and 4 other people got food poisoning!!

The Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel is split in to Block A and Block B. Block A has been refurbished to a decent standard but B is worse than any 18-30 hotel I have stayed in. The room was tiny, dingy, dirty and room furniture past its best, to be kind. Wall sockets hanging off the wall and fridge and TV broken. We were put in to Block B and told we would have to pay an extra £40 to move to Block A. After complaining to 3 different people we were finally moved free of charge. The rep was no use at all and said if Block A is not specified on your booking you canít move. Hotel is in a good location and hotel pool and pool area good. Entertainment is mainly for kids but plenty of bars close by. The food in the hotel is OK. Chicken and fish every night with some type of potato and rice. Pasta and chips most days, spaghetti bolognaise for snacks. Plenty of fruit, veg and deserts.
Best holiday ever at Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel - Faye . Date of travel: May 2009
I loved the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel so much, it was the best holiday I have ever had. Would definitely go back. Made a lot of friends there in the garden and all the kids mix with each other. So if you would like to go to the hotel, check out the shops next door - there is this really nice bloke called Ecute, he is dead canny and made this holiday complete. I will definitely be going back, my mates who I met there are going back in October.

Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel is truly the worst hotel we have ever stayed at in the world, and we have done Vietnam to Singapore (so basic to luxury). The management were terrible as were the Gold Trail reps. I have rated the service as good as the actual waiting/bar staff were great, they worked really hard. I have to agree with other reviews that the maids did a very poor job; the room were not cleaned, the bathroom was flooded every time you took a shower. The door frames were warped from the constant troubles with the shower. Food was cold and terrible choices. According to the rep this was the norm, what a load of rubbish!!!! It certainly is not a place to take children as there would not be food for them to eat... unless they like meatballs or spiced food. Everything was covered in cheese or chili, what you didn't eat one day came up the next meal disguised. No ice-creams or snacks were available in the afternoon. We would certainly go back to Icmeler but I would not stay at the Litera Deluxe even if it was free!!!! Restaurants outside served delicious meals. We have been to Turkey on 3 other occasions, had this been our first time it could have put us off.

Me and me missus were taken to Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel by some members of staff, they took us to Turkish baths down stairs, when we got there we they promised we will have the best service ever, they treated us like a fools (idiots), they charged us over 180 lira for a Turkish bath and it was just a scam. We were very disappointed and we will like to warn all UK citizens to avoid to go there, they will take your money and treat you like rubbish. I have heard that lots people have complained and we will like to let anyone know about this place, we won't get our money back, just try different places hopefully they aren't like this scums...

Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel = great
It was an amazing time in Turkey at Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel. In order to enjoy a holiday you need a decent hotel, Litera was great. The staff were amazing and looked after us all. There were no complaints from me and my family!

Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel is most definitely the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. The door frame to our room was hanging off so not much point in locking the door! the door to the balcony was rotten so was not secure, the curtain was hanging of its track so couldn't be closed, the maid service was practically non existent; dirty towels that we put on the floor were folded and put back on our beds! Toilet rolls were never replaced, the room was not cleaned all week, no top sheets on beds and only a single blanket on a double bed! Food abysmal, only meat was chicken and meatballs everyday, sometimes fish none of it hot. A waiter picked a piece of toast up of the floor and put it back in the basket on food counter, when the manager was told he had a couldn't care less attitude! Holiday makers at the hotel were complaining but to no avail and as for the travel rep., she must have been in camouflage as no one saw her! I could fill pages with incidents but quite frankly I have neither the time nor inclination! If you're thinking of staying at this hotel, or the annex Litera Relax, don't. Such a bad advert for Turkey, if this had been my first visit to the country, I wouldn't go back!

I went to the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel on the 10th of October for 2 weeks. we arrived and got put in the a block. We opened the door and couldn't believe the size of our room. It was like 2 rooms in 1. Breakfast every morning was lovely. Always something to eat. All meals were nice, always something to eat! Entertainers! They were amazing. Always fun and helpful! Lots of bars around and a night club next door called Eastenders. I recommend the Dalyan turtle beach trip! Amazing beach, long day but for were you go and what you do worth the trip. I would definitely go back next year!

What a dump
Beware - the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel is the pits! The 5 sun rating is the hotels own rating lucky if it's a 2 star, rooms dingy and filthy, food is awful and repetative, chicken, meatballs, fish, salads, all low grade foods same every day. All inclusive is a con you have to pay for air con, safes, they want a 30lira deposit off you when you arrive, no free kids ice-cream, crisps etc, usually on free with all incl. Local drinks very limited ie crap vodka, cheap nasty wine, gin local brandy, you have to pay for anything else 9lira £4.50 measures very small all incl finishes at 11pm on dot no excuses even if you are waiting to be served, pools are filthy with 90% of sunbeds broken at the 3 pools. Staff are arrogant and rude managers are even worse don't bother me attitude, facilities in the hotel very expensive go outside for these you will save at least 40% and get a better service. The hotel attitude is give me your money now go away. This hotel is deceiving people with the 5 sun rating it is not worth going to even if it is a last minute deal or a cheap holiday look elsewhere you will get a better deal than this hotel.

By no means should the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel be classed as 4 stars, we were advised it was a 5 star the reality however is more like 2 stars, upon arrival we were treated to miserable staff, below average food, poor accommodation the room was supposed to have a balcony which it didn't there were randon pipes sticking out of the walls, the fridge didn't work! Everyday we would listen to other people talking about the hotel and not one person staying there during our stay had anything positive to say about the place most, in fact, had it far worse than we did. Everyday there would be a queue of people waiting to complain to the less then helpful holiday rep. My advice to anyone considering booking up with the Litera would be to read the various reviews prior to going away this is what we did and were surprised to read more negative reviews then positive however the rational in still going was that we believed it is easy to write a bad review then a good one, however with this hotel it is an exception the place was completely mis-represented.

We have just arrived back from Turkey this morning and we stayed in the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel. We were sold a 5 star rating holiday and it is anything but, I would class this as a 2 or 3 star. the food was very basic if you like chicken then you are onto a winner as there is chicken every afternoon and evening. We also booked this hotel for the facilities for my 14-year-old son but every time he played anything you were charged unless it was water polo. Also the electricity went off at 6.30pm every evening and came back on at 7.30pm so if you want a shower avoid these times, the rooms are very basic but clean. Air con cost us £25 pounds a week and £30 for a safety deposit box for the two weeks nothing is free in Turkey. On a lighter note the staff are very friendly and Icmeler is lovely and I would return but not to the Litera Deluxe. I would make sure it was 5 star accommodation and not 5 suns as our rep reminded us.

We just got back from Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel (Aug '08). Not sure what everyone's moaning about, the food was what you would expect for a 5 suns (not 5 stars), there's 3 pools, and 4 bars to choose from, something for everyone, also thought the rep was very helpful.

Well I was in the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel 2 weeks ago and I have to say the hotel was good but the food wasn't. The entertainment was ok. Football was on when I was there so good atmosphere. I would go back for sure. Only thing is there aren't many sunbeds.

The actual Abacus Hotel is grand but the rooms are basic sleeping areas, the food is mostly Turkish themed, tasty with a reasonable choice although sometimes not as warm as I'm used to back home. The entertainment is the usual, pool games during the day and at night is good with bingo every night (not for me) then Karaoke or Turkish belly dancing with Turkish and middle eastern ladies who are gorgeous and very good at what they do. On Wednesdays there is the local market where bargains can be had through haggling but beware of cheap imitations as Turkey has no copyright laws so everything can be copied. Also children are pressured to buy products so if you take them to the market don't allow them to wander to far or you will find them with many braclets on and being talked into spending thier money. Away from the market the Turkish people are very warm and hospitable people and very easy to talk to and get along with and if you learn a few basic sentances i.e hello, goodbye, thank you, ect, they are very receptive. There are loads of bars and restaurants with Sky TV for the football fans. Overall we had a good holiday and experience. If you do visit I would encourage you to take the 45 minute catamaran trip to Rhodes. That island was beautiful and there were many bargains to be had. Would I return to Turkey again? Yes. I hope my review helps you to decide if Turkey, and further, if Icmeler is a holiday spot for you.

The Abacus Park Icmeler is in an excellent position, the hotel is basic but clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. There are 3 Hotels are in the chain and any of them can be used, the Metropole being the most popular. The food was well cooked but Chicken Caserolle and Meat Balls were served almost every day...boring. I would not go all-inclusive again as the food is better and cheaper in the restaurants in Icmeler.

I went a few years ago now when I was around 14 with my family. The scenery/ beach/ countryside was beautiful and many of the locals and expats too. However, I would strongly recommended that if you are travelling with teenage girls that you do keep an eye on them. I was hassled mercilessly in the Litera and it was very unsettling, once being locked in a hairdressing salon with this guy and my mum banging on the door trying to get me out..not fun. But.. other hotels ie. the sea front ones looked much better with a larger mix of ages. I do recommend Icmeler but please be very, very careful, as some aspects such as, hassling can be very disturbing.
