Private Hotel - Jeanette Goodman. Date of travel: Jul 2007
The Private Hotel is in quite a noisy area with bars and restaurants all around it. No rooms overlook the pool, so either over the road with noisy bars or facing the back with only the view of the next hotel and a kind of dump yard below. Cooking smells drifting upwards from the very nearby restaurants. Quite a basic hotel, but adequate and really not in rooms for long. We went to the beach most days and only used the pool twice as the pool is deep and, as not confident out of my depth, felt it could do with being made so that it has a shallow end, this would probably encourage more people to use it. However it does have a small children's pool at side. Also the bar situated by the pool could probably do with some overhead shade to allow for coverage from the hot day sun. The staff however make up for the hotel and all have a good sense of humour and would do anything to be of help, especially Ahmed, John and Bobby and the others whose names escape me. We wish them all the best.

We went to Hotel Private last August for 2 weeks. The weather was excellent and the restaurants nearby were outstanding, especially the Old Famous Kitchen, but sadly is not there anymore. There are plently of clubs and restaurants around the hotel which is just outside of the hotel. Lots of games to play in the hotel for children/teenagers. The staff at Hotel Private are all very welcoming and are on hand for any queries. My two weeks were very enjoyable and can't wait to go back in two weeks time!
