Stayed here between 20th Aug and 3rd Sep '07. We stayed here at the same time of year last year and had cleaning problems throughout our stay but thought we would give it one last chance, but would never stay at this hotel again due to the reasons listed below. 1: Swimming pools (3 of them) were never cleaned in the 2 weeks we were there but plenty of chemicals added every night as I witnessed it. Met 12 people with ear, chest or throat infections due to swimming pool(s) or air conditioning in rooms. I had ear infection for 6 days. I found broken glass in one swimming pool and the response I got from the manager was “what can we do about it”. My 8-yr-old boy suffered within 3 days of getting there with coughing fits at night, blocked nose. Slides are worn out and need maintaining as lots of people were getting foot cuts or toe nails ripped off, my boy included. You have no chance of getting a sun bed after 10am as there is not enough to cater for all guests. 2: Restaurant/bar staff more interested in chatting to girls than doing any work and when you do order any food it takes about 1hr to come. You're pestered all the time for tips even the cleaner knocks on your room in morning on the day you leave about 8am for a tip. 3: Hotel will not let you drink or eat anything you HAVEN'T bought in the bar/restaurant around the pool. They come around about 3 times everyday to remove and dump in the bin anything you have by the side of your sun bed if you haven’t bought it from the bar. 4: Cleaning standards in hotel are really bad (you will have to clean your room yourself) you will get a cleaner every day but she will do as little as possible. Bedding gets changed once every week and towels twice if you’re lucky. You will have to pay for toilet roll as you only get one roll. 5: This is what I got told from First choice rep.”Management for hotel has changed this year and First choice have been getting lots and lots of complaints about Hotel this year and we think it may have something to do with the new management” 6: You will have to pay £50.00 for crap air-conditioning for 2 weeks when in most other Hotels it’s free, you only get the aircon in the bedroom so if you have anyone sleeping in the lounge they will sweat like mad at night. (A little tip, lift open the front cover of aircon unit and ensure the filters are clean). £20.00 for safe box for 2 weeks. I have never been anywhere where so many people are complaining, if you ever go there look in the comments book they have with the Reps info on the table at reception. Turkey is a great place and we have been 4 times in the last 6yrs but it’s getting more and more expensive every year, clothes in the bazaar are not as cheap as they used to be and that goes for the quality as well. Hope this helps.

Antique Palace
I absolutely loved Antique Palace!! I kind of fell in love while I was there with a sexy waiter called Ibrahim! All the staff were so nice and deserved to get paid more money then they do! The hotel was lovely and I would go back again and again! I cried so much when we left, didn't want to go! It has been one of my best holidays in Turkey and so want to go back but doubt my mum will!! Well, that's all I can say.... love you all at Antique Palace xxx

The bar staff were very rude and unhelpful. When I asked for a breakfast, it took 1 hour till we recieved it (it wasn't even busy), and when I asked for my change from one of the waiters ('Alex' - umit) after waiting half an hour, he got very aggressive and told me next time I should wait! A lot of the time my group felt threatened by the bar staff. Only 3 of the water slides were working properly. Although our room was cleaned daily, and the maids were friendly, but over all not the best hotel for your money.

We were there in July 2007 and completely loved it, the waiters were very helpful except one who was ignorant and rude, apart from that very rude waiter called Martin everything was brilliant. Would definitely go back again.

I returned back from the Antique Palace Hotel in August and can I just say I loved it. Food was great, entertainment great, the waiters were so funny and so kind. I was constanly laughing. They would always get you up to dance and join in. They let me serve behind the bars and Ibrahim would always make me dance to get everyone else up dancing. I never got to sunbath as Ibrahim and Mustafer would push me in and they actually picked up the sunlounger and threw me in! lol! They would pour water on me and bully me. I love all the waiters if you are the person who has a good time then go there you will never stop laughing. Ibrahim always took the micky about how I talked coz I'm from Sheffield. I fell in love with Ibrahim. I've been to Turkey 8 times and I know they sometimes use English girls but he is still texting me now and I'm meeting him in March hopefully. They were all so funny. The rooms were clean and the maids were lovley. I couldn't have asked for a better and more fun holiday. And all the people who slate it, well what can I say...there is nothing wrong with this place! xxxx

The Antique Palace Hotel was good, basic but clean. Bar staff ok and value for money is ok. Kids club was fab. Kelly, the kids rep loved the kids and was great fun with them. Each day brought different activites and kids were always making different things from juggling balls to masks!! Also Kelly was really good with all my children. She would help in any way she could. More helpful than the actual reps! Not much evening entertainment but Fridays are kids party night and Kelly and team was so good they were really fun. The boy in team is a bit too cheeky but the banana and pirate are great fun for the kids and they loved the kids club competition as my one daughter won a free t shirt. A definite recommendation for families with children! Swimming pools also good and fun water slides! Ice cream man a bit of a pain. Real noisy all hours when people trying to relax. Also Emma hassled a bit too much about Turkish nights and stuff, when we wanted to relax! Overall a good place for families with children!

Antique Palace Hotel is about 1 mile from the beach in Marmaris and close to the town centre - a short trip by dolmus minibus. We went in September and the weather was great and not too hot. The hotel is basic but the rooms are clean and comfortable. There are a few restaurants in the Antique Palace Hotel but we mostly chose to eat out and there are lots of option. Food in the restaurant is very English - no turkish or other options. Only downside was our hotel room faced the road which was noisy at night with coaches coming and going. Hotel was great for kids.
