MARCAN BEACH HOTEL HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Marcan Beach Hotel, Oludeniz
Spotless - Louise Baker. Date of travel: Jul 2005
A small beach-front hotel that is brand new this year. The rooms were spotless, cleaned daily and with linen and towels changed every other day. Breakfast was a buffet spread served in the open-air restaurant. A huge selection of food was offered each morning and there were always some delicious Turkish pastries, as well as fresh fruit, olives, etc. Although we were only booked in for bed and breakfast we ate most of our meals here -the chef is excellent and has been with the restaurant for many years, and it was always value for money. They also have a proper stone pizza oven - delicious fresh garlic bread was baked in this oven and served (at no extra charge) at dinner time, when you can eat grilled sea bream, served with salad and potatoes, and accompanied by a reasonable bottle of wine, for around £18 for two. A lot cheaper here than anywhere else we found in Olu Deniz. Below the restaurant is a bowling alley, which can be a little noisy when you're sunbathing around the (admittedly quite small) pool. But by far the best thing about the hotel were the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. One of the waiters took us up to Fethiye, in his own car, to check out the market, and another waiter took us to see the Ghost Town, and even took us to his family home to meet his mother. And both times they would only take money for petrol. The staff are a wonderful advertisement for a lovely hotel. Tour Operator: Anatolian Sky
