Marvellous Merton Hotel St Saviour Jersey - Simone and John Wearne. Date of travel: Oct 2006
The Merton Hotel is quite expensive if staying for a week or two in a twin/double room etc but has lots to offer everyone who visits and is in St Helier/St Saviour parish in a very quiet road with large car park. Here at the Merton there is a lovely swimming pool slide and sauna etc which is fantastic and has lovely gardens, Tennis courts and superb food in 3 restaurants and when I visited here in 2006 found the staff very friendly and kind and helpful. There is a supervised creche for little ones and The Star bar room and Dantes late night dance ballroom which has great music, entertainment and a wonderful cabaret here and enjoyed the Abba night and country western singer pianist, banjo player and band which was first class in my opinion and open to non residents of the hotel which is great. I also enjoyed listening to the piano player in another part of the hotel and the coffee and snack I had whilst relaxing, reading in the conservatory which overlooks the beautiful garden and found the hotel to be in a quiet location yet near to the lovely park, church St Lukes memorial, tearoom in park and concerts held in the park and the hotel was within walking distance of the shops - in fact there were two opposite across the road from Merton. My opinion of food, courtesy attitude of staff and surroundings and rooms are high and will definately visit here again in 2007
