Best Western Tuscan Inn, San Francisco
San Francisco - Dean Semograd. Date of travel: Dec 2006
Stayed at the Best Western Tuscan in for New Year's Eve 2006, was an excellent choice as it was only a 5-10 minute walk to view the fireworks display that went off at midnight by the Bay Bridge.
Close walking distance to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, and to the start of the cable car system that will take you to Market Street. There is a Safeway and a Walgreens only a couple of minutes from the hotel for things you need so you can pick up a few things to eat in your room to save a little bit extra money. Good eating all around. However, eating out in San Francisco is expensive so beware if you haven't been there. You are probably going to be in for just a bit of a shock.
Rooms are very nice, clean, beds are comfortable as we had two double beds and four people in the room. It was a bit crowded as there was little storage area to put your suitcases away so that what room you had was used up by suit cases. Complimentary beer and wine each night as well as breakfast each morning. All in all, a fair price for a hotel near the wharf. A lot newer and cleaner looking than some of the others that were a bit closer. A good choice, not necessarily the best choice but we were last minute travellers and that was all we could find. Beware - parking is an extra $25 extra each night, it doesn't come with your room. Internet service is also pay to use on a 24hr basis. Nothing is free, we were there 2 nights and our additional charges were close to $80 for parking and internet. Keep that in mind.
