You have to like being in the middle of it all - but the Waikiki Marriot has that Hawaii touch which permeates everything on the island and thankfully sets it apart from every other standard hotel. There is plenty to do on foot - great street market shopping and restaurants close by - although you will have to join a tour or hire a car (or Harley!) to see the North Shore and the pineapple plantations down the middle of the Island.
