Argentina
The tantalizing Tango, juicy grilled beef steaks, political agony and ecstasy; tough Gauchos (cowboys) and wide-open plains are the images conjured up by the vast South American country of Argentina. A holiday in Argentina offers the chance to experience all these and more in a land bursting with diverse natural beauty and sophisticated cities.more
Mendoza Wine Tours - Phil. Date of travel: Feb 2008
We loved the wine tours and our experience in Argentina with Mendoza Holidays was first class. It was very much appreciated. When you are booking a tour on line with an organization that you are not familiar with, it does make one leary at times. We enjoyed all of the wineries we visited and appreciated the way you arranged for several different types to visit. Mendoza Holidays made it an easy, very comfortable experience. I would absolutely recommend you again.
Brilliant place to stay - Janet Knight. Date of travel: Mar 2006
We only had one week here and spent most of it in Buenos Aires, staying at The Cocker. The city is busy and can be hectic, which is why it was so nice to come 'home'. The cemetery is not to be missed, nor is the giant aluminium flower nearby. But my favourite things here are the cafes and parillas. I have never eaten so much meat! And what meat!! Nobody eats until 10pm at the earliest, the wine is delicious and the people were incredibly friendly.
Wish I'd stayed longer - Nigel Tompkins. Date of travel: Apr 2005
I thoroughly enjoyed both Cordoba and Buenos Aires as a change to the northern parts of the country from where I had travelled. Since the early years of this decade the devaluation of the peso has made travelling here incredible value for money. The cities are very European in feel, with sidewalk cafes, trendy nightspots (Buenos Aires obviously has the reputation for clubbing) and luxurious hotels. I was lucky enough to stay with some friends in Palermo, which was a beautiful tree-lined suburb of Buenos Aires. The wide boulevards of the city centre add a lot of character to the city which is quite unlike any other. A fabulous destination to pass a lot of time, of which I regret not spending more. (And the malbecs are fantastic!)
