Bahamas
A string of hundreds of idyllic islands a short distance from America’s mainland city of Miami, the Bahamas epitomises a Caribbean holiday in the minds of most, although it actually lies in the Atlantic. No matter, though, for the trappings are all there despite the heavy influx of tourism: endless sunshine, long inviting beaches, numerousmore
Beautiful island - Lynne. Date of travel: Jul 2006
The Bahamas was everything I imagined it to be, white sands so soft it was hard to walk as your feet kept sinking, the sea so clear you could see right down, no one pestered us for anything on the beach. All the Bahamian people were very friendly. Go on the island adventure trip, expensive but worth every penny standing on a sand bar in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean was unbelievable. Fantastic, can't wait to go again! and visit.

The Bahamas is a beautiful island and the beaches and the sea are lovely. Most of the Bahamian people that we met were really nice. We stayed at Superclub Breezes on Cable Beach. What a disaster. We were led to believe that it would be a couples only holiday. However, we discovered that this was incorrect on our arrival. The hotel was mainly full of 18 year old single American teenagers who drank alcohol from 9a.m. until 4a.m. (when the disco ended). They filled the pool area. Not that anyone would have wanted to go in the pool once you had witnessed one of the teenagers vomit in it! Also they often ate their food in the pool and they continually smoked cigarettes and cigars and drunk lots of alcohol whilst remaining in the pool for hours. Which made you wonder where they were relieving themselves. The water in the pool was murky at best - little wonder. They were loud and inconsiderate. My husband and I complained to the rep and the management and despite their promises nothing changed. Breezes is undoubtedly an 18-25 hotel. We met a few couples who were in their late 20s and even they were disgusted at the behaviour of the young people. If you have already booked a holiday at Breezes, I suggest that you take good ear plugs with you - you will need them. My husband and I counted down the days to when we returned home. We left the hotel at every opportunity. The island of the Bahamas is lovely - and certainly worth a visit - but choose your hotel wisely, preferably 5 star if you can afford it. Food at Breezes was fine. Plenty to do - if you could get past the teenagers and stand all the screaming. The nightly entertainment was terrible - when you could hear it over the screams. We found ourselves going to bed early - as it was the only way to have some peace. We were lucky in that respect (except for one occasion). As some of the other couples complained of the teenagers running around the corridors and knocking on other peoples doors until early hours of the morning. Tour Operator: First Choice

Someone needs to inform the administrator of the Nassau Bahamas Airport that lots of travelers will not return to the Bahamas for holiday by changing the airport to 100% smoke free. I thought their economy depended on tourism. There are lots of tourists that smoke and when they arrive at the airport 3 hours early and can't smoke for those 3 hours plus the time on the plane they will not be back!

My partner and I stayed at Sandal's 5 star resort Royal Bahamien. Having heard and read many different views on the property we were a bit aprehensive, however the resort and the isand were fantastic! Amoung the many resturants to chose from were the crystal room which featured a stunning crystal chanderlier and international a la carte meals; the bacarract resturant which featured french cusine and cafe gumbos which was situated on the off shore island and served traditional caribbean food including counch (prenounced conk). There is tastes for everyone with japanese and italian returants as well. The staff are always pleasant and friendly and the accomadation is bright and spacious, cleaned daily. I would highly reccomend this property as a place to visit for a classy 5* holiday. Tour Operator: BA

Bahamss, white sandy beaches, amazing Sunsets and Dolphins to swim with at Blue lagoon. A truly memorable place, with friendly people, where you can not help to unwind and relax. For all the souvenirs why not visit the Straw market in Nassau, but remember to haggle the prices down (which of course is all part of the fun). I stayed in Breezes which was fantastic, right on the beach and you could just sit and relax or do one of the many activities from learning the trapeez to all sorts of watersports. So if it's the R&R or all action your looking for this resort has something for everyone. The service and food in the hotel were top class with a choice of restaurants too choose from. Definitely a place not to miss
