Sadly one of Africa’s largest countries, the equatorial Democratic Republic of Congo, is a “no-go” area for a leisure holiday, having endured decades of civil war and corruption. Visitors to this still often violent country are confined to business travellers, diplomats and aid workers, who find good hotels and restaurants in the capital, Kinshasa, themore more intrepid venturing into the beautiful Virunga National Park in the north east of the country.
