I loved Ivory Coast - Jean S.. Date of travel: Sep 2008
The Man region or Ivory Coast is where the most beautiful forest and waterfalls in West Africa. There are also nice beaches. I particularly like the variety of food that can found in any market or street corner. I often ate KaKa a cassava crumble with onions, tomato, plantains, chillies, oil and fish. There is also placalie or fufu. Both are cassava loaves but fufu has plantain add. They are eaten with a soup of meat, veggies or the leaf of cassava or potato. They also have besubla (eucalyptus), baobab, or ginger juice that go well with donuts holes or fried coconut squares. If you're lucky someone in a village will give you food or liquor with the fruit from a chacao or coffee tree.
