• MALAWI HOLIDAY REVIEWS

Malawi
Surrounding the largest lake in Africa, and offering some glorious natural features supplied by the Great Rift Valley that divides the country, Malawi is a peaceful, scenic and welcoming destination. A holiday in Malawi offers diverse experiences, from enjoying sports both on and beside the vast freshwater Lake Malawi, to game-spotting in one of themore
Malawi - Ian Wason. Date of travel: May 2006
Malawi is often called 'the warm heart of Africa' and it is absolutely true. I felt far safer wandering around the markets there than in the centre of Cape Town, or even London. Tour Operator: Wilderness Safaris
Travel slow in Malawi - Ryan Botha. Date of travel: Nov 2004
There are lots of places to see in Malawi, but getting around by public transport takes a lot longer than most are accustomed to - I think we took the whole day to travel about 150km by bus!! So go with a lot of time and a realistic (or unrealistic!) idea of what can be accomplished in a day and enjoy the experience - or if you have limited time avoid the chicken buses. Loved Inkhata Bay beaches, hiking on Mt Mulanje, Cape Maclear and Zomba Plateau. People extremely friendly, but I think they are becoming very tourist-wise now.
