• NIGERIA HOLIDAY REVIEWS

Nigeria
Africa’s most heavily populated country, Nigeria’s multitude of tribal and religious factions has left it embroiled in civil unrest and dictatorships, holding back progress in this oil rich nation where most of the people are classified as the world’s poorest. There is plenty inside Nigeria, outside of its chaotic, overcrowded cities, waiting to be exploitedmore
Lagos is a fun rocking crazy city - James. Date of travel: Dec 2008
Always something going on in Nigeria. Always something to talk about. People love to party and enjoy life, women are fine!!!! unfortunately 2 negatives are traffic and power cuts.
I love Lagos - Knight howard. Date of travel: Nov 2008
At first l was afraid until l Landed safely, on arrival l was treated like a king to even those who never know me likes me , l felt like a hero already, highly friendly Migration at point of arrival. Friendly people and everything l heard about them are just a mare making big noise and tarnishing a good image of the country. All countries in the world have bad people. Cheap hotels and nice world class standard rating. For me l have a good confession about Nigeria and me and my family will always come here in every-holiday.

After nearly ten years of abscence I found Nigeria to have changed a lot. I don't need to mention the friendliness of the people. Officials have changed a lot - to the positive (no need to be afraid of bribery any longer, at least not too much; simply explain anti corruption activities of President Obasanjo's admnistration emphatically, and this will do). Travelling with my family (wife and daughter of three years) throughout the country (5000 km in 2 weeks) was nearly uncomplicated (see that you are supplied with a working fire-extinguisher in your car). Crossing notorious Semi border was a smooth affair (after passing border you will encounter only 3 official checkpoints: customs, immigration, police, the fourth one is set up by hoodlooms - overrun the latter). To Lagos there will be another four or five checkpoints - none of these giving serious headaches, provided your documents, especially for the car, are ok. Road safety (except pot holes) was not imaginary. We enjoyed and will come back asap (my wife is Nigerian). Tour Operator: Individual
Humanity on the move - Richard P. Date of travel: Sep 2005
My return to Nigeria after 18 months was every bit as enjoyable as I hoped. Ignorant and sensationalist reports on Nigeria ( and Lagos in particular) continue to misrepresent both the people and the place with almost criminal inaccuracy. If you need order, organisation, peace, privacy and recognisable western food on your travels then don't get out of the aeroplane. You will be suicidally miserable and you will probably go insane within 12 hours. If eating hot pepper goat soup on the side of the road and talking football to the cook while an unimaginable combination of noise, smells, chaos and movement fires the senses from dawn, dusk, night, and dawn again, then book your ticket now. Lagos is like a highly concentrated, triple strength shot of humanity on the move. Tour Operator: -
