A hidden gem - Nigel Tompkins. Date of travel: Apr 2006
What really makes Togo, apart from the beautiful beaches, lush forest region and postcard paradise setting, is the people. After travelling around a number of its neighbouring countries I found that Togo lacks the connivance that a recent new tourism has added in character trait to many of the people in the surrounding countries. The people were exceptionally friendly and generally curious about the visitor in their tiny country. Aneho is beatiful and Lome, for a capital, is quite calm by comparison to other West African cities. Tour Operator: none
