• TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO HOLIDAY REVIEWS

Trinidad And Tobago
The two southernmost Caribbean islands, Trinidad and Tobago, form one nation, different in character but united in their appeal as a holiday destination. Trinidad is the most developed of the two, with its lively capital, Port of Spain, famed for its markets and malls and a wild annual carnival. Tobago, by contrast, remains an unspoiltmore
Didn't like trinidad - Anonymous. Date of travel: Feb 2009
I recently visited Trinidad, I hated it. The people were not friendly or just down right rude at times, thank goodness for the staff at the hilton they were ok. But be careful how you leave money in the hotel room. We were robbed, the cleaning lady blames the guys who come in to replenish the water, who knows. The locals say that tourism is not their thing but that was ridiculous. I have always wanted to visit Trinidad and experience carnival I did it and never again!

We highly recommend Wayne's tours - he took 16 of us for a day trip around the Island - well informed - and looked after our every need. No complaints here. We also took local transportation to Scarborough.

Tobago: We were out & about every other day and got to know some great local people. Tobago is nice and vibrant for a Carib' Island (we have been to quite a few islands). The most notable restaurants we went to were House of Pancakes (nice owners), Cafe Ciao (good to pop into) and the Mélange, frenchy type food (but watch out for the 'Angel Delight' added to some puddings - funny ha ha!). As usual with the Carib' food even at its best is just OK. It Always takes me a few days to get used to eating early, as restaurants close so early. Taxis - As usual ask for price of a journey before jumping in taxis (or you'll be charged higher rates), remember you can always so no too high. Tour Operator: Golden Caribbean

My sister and I spent two weeks in Tobago.(Mount Irvine). I can honestly say this is the best holiday we have ever had. Tobago is small with good community spirit. Very safe, the people are friendly, lots of adventure. i.e good for nature lovers. I strongly recommend an island tour. And a visit to the rainforest. Tour operator: Wayne's tour. Highly recommended. The beaches are beautiful. Mount Irvine, Bucco Reef, Store Bay to name but a few. Tour Operator: My travel
Happy Island! - Lizzie W. Date of travel: Apr 2005
I went out to Trinidad when I was about 6 and came back when I was about 7. I had excellent experience there. One of many was the Trinidad Carnival - it's a carnival I could never forget - everyone dressed up in magnificent massive costumes. Another thing I remember is how cheerful everybody was. You just have too go down the street for a bit and you would experience the happiness of everyone. People would smile and wave as if you were hugely famous. People you have never seen before even. They all make you feel like family. Another is the food the food is so gorgeous it makes my mouth water. My favorite foods were doubles which is a pastrie filled with vegetables and spices; shark and bake which is a pastrie with bits of shark in it it also comes with a large variety of toppings; the one other food is corn soup. The people in Trinidad are always helpful and friendly which also makes you feel family like. One other thing is the beautiful sea life Tobago especially is filled with beautiful sea life, it's filled with corials, fish, and some wrecks. Tobago also has beautiful beaches and clear seas which is also very relaxing and excellent for snorkling. Tour Operator: BWIA

Trinidad and Tobago is a wonderful place to come for the carnival and afterwards cool down on that beautiful island of Tobago.

Trinidad and tobago is a great place to visit, but trinidad doesnt have the vacation feel like tobago does. tobago is all beautiful beaches and resorts with excellent seafood choices, whereas trinidad is more like the mecha of it all and i didnt find the women friendly at all towards me. I am caucasian, my husband is black\spanish originally from trinidad. Get over the fact that there are multicultural couples now.
