UGANDA HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Uganda
Uganda is not only perhaps Africa’s most eco-friendly country, but it is decidedly people-friendly too. The government has sensitively exploited the natural beauty of this country so a holiday in Uganda offers some fantastic experiences, like adventure sports, gorilla treks and some thrilling mountaineering. Although landlocked, Uganda encompasses some large lakes, the largest being Lakemore

Gorilla trekking in Uganda - Kate Barrick. Date of travel: Aug 2006
A face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is an experience not to be missed while in Uganda - forget the cost involved, it is worth every penny! We did our trekking in Mgahinga where we encountered a group of feeding gorillas - females, babies and two enormously fearsome silverback males. We were greeted with a drumming on the chest (tarzan style), which was terrifying, and our guide wisely urged us to crouch down as he was trying to intimidate us and show who was boss - we were eager to show him that we thought he was definitely boss! Unfortunately most of my photographs of these hairy giants were blurred due to extreme shaking on my part; but what an experience!

Lots to do in Uganda - Jeremy Louw. Date of travel: May 2006
Uganda is wonderful - the pace of life is relaxed, the scenery is stunning and the people are warm and friendly. White-water rafting on the Nile River was a definite highlight - we camped at Bujugali Falls and went with the guys that run the camp; a rafting experience to rival the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe! Also loved the crater lakes region and the visit to Kigali Forest where we tracked chimpanzees, although unfortunately didn't find any. The gorilla-trekking experience at Mgahinga was also awesome.

Uganda - Juliette Day. Date of travel: Apr 2006
Uganda is one of the most wonderful African countries I've visited - extremely beautiful with lots to do and incredibly friendly people. The only problem we had with begging was in the south near to where the gorilla tracking takes place, which is obviously where the most tourists are to be found. Elsewhere we were greeted with nothing but smiles and friendly faces.
