Everything in Venezuela was awesome, tours, hotel, food, nice people, bigger than I thought.

Overpriced, rude and worst of all people will rip you off every chance they get. After carefully planning a family trip for months we flew to los Roques but where dismayed to find out that the sailboat that we had contracted (Obsession) for 3 days was not on the island and no one knew its whereabouts. To make matters worse there were no rooms available on the island of Grand Roque and we had nowhere to go since the last departing plane was full. Luckily we were able to find a smaller sailboat by paying a hefty cash price on the spot. Unfortunately it was not prepared to receive us (dirty, stale food) but at least we had a place to sleep. The next day the original sailboat showed up. The owner of the boat did not even apologize. We had already paid for the whole 3 days on the Obsession so we agreed with it’s owner that he would not charge us for the time that the sailboat had not been available, and that on the following Monday he would reimburse us. We decided to take the boat but once on board we noticed several things wrong, the radio and the GPS did not work, the boat was leaking gas, and there was an awful smell through out the cabin. And although this was several weeks ago we still haven’t received our money back from the owner of the Obsession. Later we even found out that the captain was not licensed. I write this as a warning! There are many boats available in Grand Roque, avoid the Obsession and the company that represents them Explore Yachts Tour.

Margarita is a lovely island - use Marcostours for you're around the island tour. Seeing the whole island is wonderful, and you get to go on a boat around the Restinga Lagoon - we all got to hold a starfish and a seahorse! We were there from 19th July - 3rd August 06(we got an extra day as the flight back was cancelled!) Fully recommend seeing the island. Tour Operator: First Choice

Went to Los Roques... ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! The best archipelago you will ever seen... For its beauty and ecological importance it was declared national park in 1972. You can take a day trip or go for more days. It's beautiful there... forget the Bahamas or Hawaii... from now on, I'm going to Los Roques in Venezuela!!! Tour Operator: none

Went to Isla Margarita part of Venezuela best place on earth: would recommend to any one; loads to do and see, also trips to the Amazon jungle and Angel falls. Great weather as part of the Caribbean.
