Completely refreshing - Sue Micklefield. Date of travel: Mar 2004
Completely and refreshingly different from the rest of Australia. The pace of life is much slower and people have time to chat and discuss the weather. Also lots of beautiful national parks and plenty of opportunities to spot the unusual wildlife, including the duck-billed platypus, wombats, wallabies and Tassie Devils. Coastal scenery is spectacular and the winding mountainous roads were a constant delight - as long as you are not in a hurry.
