BUENOS AIRES HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Buenos Aires
A city that combines the passion and energy of Latin America with the style and sophistication of a European city, Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, is a city of contrasts where desperately poor people beg and rummage through garbage below imposing colonial mansions, and wide boulevards and cobbled streets give way to sprawling slums. Good times in Buenos Aires!! - Jess tones. Date of travel: Oct 2011
I spend 5 days in Buenos Aires and it wasnt enough. My plan was to do all the usual tourist tick list things.... i.e. 'Eat steak, watch tango, watch the polo and see the Evita balcony' but i also wanted to see the real Buenos Aires, i.e. go out and party until 6am, see the street art and meet locals. I found it to be a great city for doing both these things. I did a tour called Foto Ruta www.foto-ruta.com and also a grafiti tour www.graffitimundo.com, and you can do an open top 2cv tour, which was great. Highly recommend all three if you want to explore every part of BA!

Buenos Aires: What are you waiting for? - Will. Date of travel: Mar 2010
I moved to BA from the US some 2 years back and absolutely fell in love with the place. There is never a lack of options whether you´re checking out the amazing parks that are literally all over town, to hitting the plethora of amazing bars, lounges, cafes, and clubs. One must do for the nightlife aspect is The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl (www.pubcrawlBA.com). I have been a few times as there are always a ton of backpackers, expats, locals, and travelers all of which come together very nicely for a great night out.

Buenos Aires, just amazing! - Alex. Date of travel: Feb 2010
I could write a never ending list of why Buenos Aires amazed me so much and why in a way it became my second home. Besides of what everybody says about the long night life porteña, the unbelievable Argentinian steak and the sexy Tango, I think that what makes this city unique is its people and culture. Mix of cultures also, and the way people from different parts of the world adapt to the ways of Buenos Aires!

Very happening city and certainly very in right now. You will be spoilt for choice by the number and quality of bars, restaurants and accommodation. I am not going to recommend any restaurants, too subjective and they change frequently. However, having spent a month there recently I am happy to recommend staying in Las Canitas, a small, very safe, central, little known district. Much less "touristy" than its bigger and better known neighbour Palermo. If you are in Buenos Aires for two weeks or longer and are bored of hotels or hostels, consider renting an apartment. There are lots of options through companies like BA apartments.com. You can rent an amazing pad (rooftop, pool, etc) for very unamazing prices.

Amazing town, amazing food and cool people. Not to be missed. This is a very romantic city with distinct European overtones, yet maintaining its well known and very unique Argentinian feel/culture. Argentinians seemed to have inherited (from the Italians and the Spaniards) that attitude of living to enjoy life rather than to stress about it... so being there is very enjoyable indeed since they have it very clear what great food is... as well as good entertainment. Maybe if it were overly expensive I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much... but guess what... it was not.

Although I don't generally like cities, I loved Buenos Aires for its charm and laid back feel, particularly in the bohemian San Telmo district where we strolled around the marketplaces and watched informal tango sessions taking place in Plaza Dorrego. Watching tango in the squares and in the La Boca neighbourhood was an amazing experience - no need to pay lots of money to book a special tango and dinner show that is advertised heavily!
