The Temples Of Angkor
One of the great sights of the world are the spectacular stone temples of Angkor, the remains of an ancient civilization concealed in the thick jungle close to the town of Siem Reap in the heart of Cambodia. More than 100 temples have been excavated in the area, but the most renowned is Angkor Wat,more

Advisor Angkor Villa Siem Reap
Advisor Angkor Villa is a fantastic hotel! We were picked up from the hotel by a very friendly tuk-tuk driver (who we used for our 3-days around the temples). On arrival we had a complimentary drinks. The 6 computers downstairs were great( free of charge). Room was cleaned and had wifi as well. Very good customer service and a brilliant location (2 minutes to Old and Pub Street).Visiting Angkor tours with car only $20 per day. We highly recommend this hotel.

After a few hours of Angkor I got it. A half day is plenty to see the major temples, wander about a bit, snap 10 rolls of film and then get bored. Siem Reap, the town where people stay, is awful with hotels looking like they came from factories and the usual expat bars. I wouldn't recommend planning a trip around the experience of Angkor like so many do, but rather drop in if it's on the way through an overland route to Thailand or Laos.
A photographer's dream - Lucy Burns. Date of travel: Aug 2003
An absolute must in Cambodia are the temples of Angkor - after travelling in South East Asia for a while I thought I was all templed out, but am so glad I didn't miss these! I hired a scooter with a driver for 3 days to take me around and the best thing was experiencing the temples at different times of day. Angkor is a photographer's dream come true and the pictures I got of the sun lighting up the stone faces at the Bayon are stunning. The crumbling temple of Ta Phrom is also a must-experience and looks like it is the setting for an Indiana Jones movie. And Angkor Wat is something else!
