Santo Antao
The island of Santo Antao is the most northerly of the Cape Verde archipelago, split down the middle by a towering range of mountains, with green, tropical valleys just begging to be explored by adventurous hikers. The lower slopes are covered in sugar, banana and coffee plantations, and one of the main products is themore island’s famous rum, which lifts the spirits of holidaymakers and locals. The island is a scenic wonderland, and the old colonial capital town of Ponta do Sol is full of interest.
