Galapagos Islands - Betty Stern. Date of travel: Nov 2006
My husband and I were amazed by the smoothness and professionalism of the transfer agents to the accommodations to the guides. We were especially impressed with the guides, not only for their warmth, intelligence and professionalism, but also for their proactiveness when my husband was ill. They were very kind and action oriented. The were the “frosting on your cake. See them on the web boundlessjourneys.com

Go diving!! - Claire Barker. Date of travel: Mar 2005
If you're planning a trip to the Galapagos make sure you're going to go diving! Its spectacular, we learnt whilst out there (cheaper than in England, takes a couple of days and a beautiful place to learn) but if not, learn before you go, otherise you will miss out on the best wildlife that there is to see! Also dont just take a cruise and fail to see much of what the islands really have to offer! Go between January and May for the best weather. Tour Operator: world challenge

Even though a trip to the Galapagos is expensive it is SO worth it to save up for this! It was just at the end of off-season so I had no difficulty in arranging a boat from Puerto Ayora when I arrived. The sea can be quite choppy so it is a good idea to take sea sickness tablets with you so as not to waste an expensive holiday - a lot of time is spent on board eating and sleeping! Luckily there were not too many tourists yet and we had most of the islands to ourselves - our boat was a small catamaran with only 8 of us on board, and a brilliant English speaking guide - some boats are huge with 30 passengers or so - a very different experience having the islands full of noisy people and the waters around the boat busy with snorkellers! I cannot even begin to describe the experience of walking among animals and birds who have no concept of fear for humans - the best was sitting on a beach while the cutest sealion pups came right up to me and virtually climbed into my lap to investigate this new playmate! And while snorkelling a penguin swam right up to me and peered into my mask!
