I stayed in Antibes but visited Nice often. I loved the promenade, the view from there is pretty amazing. I took some stairs off the promenade and swam off the cliffs. Beautiful, took my goggles and snorkels too and although the Med is pretty fished out it was great to see the undersea landscape and some small fish. The old town had some good bars that were happening in the evening and during the day the I found the shopping pretty good. Try the train to Monaco from Nice, it's really scenic.
