The Ionian Island of Corfu off of the north-western coast of Greece is a dichotomy: it retains its intrinsic beauty despite having been one of the first of the Greek islands to be overrun by package holiday development. The infrastructure at times finds it hard to cope with the influx of visitors, but Corfu remainsmore

Arillas Corfu
Super.... just got back from two weeks and had a great time in Arillas. Joined in with the locals for the traditional Wine Festival. Lovely beach, we did have thunderstorms but they were amazing to watch. Weather mostly in the 70s although a bit chilly at night. Very good choice of restaurants and with only 2 music bars in the whole resort not deafened by noise. Great walks nearby to San Stefanos and Afionas and Aghia Georgios North.
Corfu is a beauty - Steve . Date of travel: Aug 2008
Corfu is a very popular destination for tourists for the last 30 years. We had great time there and it's a really beautiful island. There are so many places to visit and so many areas that we advise everyone to book at least 2 weeks in advance. One week is nothing if you really like to go around and visit "real Greece". Nice and friendly people, beautiful sea, great weather.

Arillas on the north west coast is just beautiful especially when the sun sets over the islands off shore. I have been visiting Arillas for over 25 years and I am already looking forward to next years holiday! Friendly, safe, great food and people, a special thank's to Olga's Travel.
We absolutely loved Kavos - Carina Barbara. Date of travel: May 2008
The nightlife in Corfu is more than we expected... would definitely recommend it to young people who are looking to have a good time and drink loads... I don't think that the night life is suited for families though.
I Loved St Georges - Kirsten Watson. Date of travel: Sep 2007
I have just returned from a relaxing week in St Georges, which as a resort I would recommend to all. It offers excellent beaches and fabulous tavernas offering traditional Greek Food. The Panorama and Miris Restaurants are not to be missed, the Queens offers excellent cocktails and La Iguana good entertainment. Kostas boat trips to Paxos and the blue lagoon and a Greek Night are a must.
Beautiful Island - Jason Hall. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Corfu is a beautiful and very green island. We always have a great time and it is our paradise. Nice for couples and families. Corfu is Greece and is a fantastic place to visit.
Nice mix - Alan Lake. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Corfu has a nice mixture of bars and restaurants. Very nice views of the sea. Very clean sandy beach.
Corfu is great - Tracey Bourn. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Lovely island, great place to relax and enjoy life. October is a lovely time of the year to go on holiday to Corfu/ St George - the place is deserted - there are just enough supermarkets, shops and restaurants open to keep you going for a week and the temperature was still in the high 20's (mostly around 25 / 26deg). It is warm enough to still sit on the beach and swim in the sea / pool but the beach again is deserted with very few tourists on it! (beds & brollies still available). If you want to see Corfu as it is without tourists then go in October - we hired a car and drove through the mountains to vists parts of Corfu that we hadn't seen. October is Olive time so we saw lots of families putting their olive nets out ready for when the olives fall. The mountain villages are traditional and unspoilt by tourists and the views out across Paleokastritsis are spectacular from the mountains.

St George south
We've been going to Corfu for 19 years now and love it. Our favourite place is St George south, we now go twice a year and it is our second home.

A Dream Location
Corfu was lovely - a mix of old traditional and modern, with plenty of individual choice for a lively or relaxing holiday. We were very pleased with the quality of beaches, the different types of beach and resort and the stunning scenery. We had glorious weather, apart from a couple of windy days, which meant there was sand and grit blowing but this was our only complaint - a lovely place for a holiday.

Hire a car is a must in Corfu, really worth the money and the freedom. The town's busy but the main roads are quiet. Visit the nice beaches and the site.
Corfu was bliss! - Karen and James. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Corfu: We had a car for the week and did all the main sights easily. Corfu town is great for ambling along admiring the narrow alleys and having a leisurely lunch on one of the many tavernas on The Liston. The best meal we had was at Agni Taverna - Greek hospitality with English attention to detail. The best 'find' was Tayo Beach bar on the seaward-side of the Korission lagoon. It's on a stretch on unmade road and the beach is fine pale sand perfect for swimming and having loads of space to yourself. Take plenty of sun cream, a good book, lie back and relax. Enjoy a refreshing shower and an ice cool beer at the bar... Corfu was Pure Bliss!
Corfu is great - Heidi & Mark Farrar and 2 children. Date of travel: May 2006
Corfu is a beautiful island. The further south you go, the nicer the beaches are, nice fine sand. The waters are crystal clear, the locals very welcoming and the food just out of this world. Tour Operator: Thomson

Stayed in Dassia, but had a car, for the week. Corfu is a great Island to explore, you miss so much by just staying in the main resorts. The interior of the Island is beautiful. Very green. You can also find great deserted beaches by taking the road south towards Lefkimi, but taking one of the right turns past Moriatika. Nightlife in Corfu town is good. Much better than the resort bars, clubs. Dont be suckered into staying put on the coast resorts. when explored its a fabulous Island. Tour Operator: first choice

I travelled to Corfu in May last year and stayed in a wonderful villa in Nissaki on the north east coast. This villa had 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 4 adults. we had our own private pool which was lovely as we could use as and when we please. Whilst in Corfu we travelled to the resort of Kassiopi north of the island which had some lovely tavernas and shops right by the harbour. I would definitely go to Corfu again, and would reccommend having a villa and hiring a car to get you round the island more easily. Tour Operator: thomsons
