Bali
With its idyllic beach resorts, a holiday in Bali has long been the favourite choice for travelers to Indonesia, and it remains the country’s top tourist spot despite some tragic terrorist bombing attacks in recent years. A great deal of beauty is crammed onto this small, exotic island, including volcanoes, lakes, rivers, verdant forests andmore

Bali is a wonderful place, the local people are genuine and warm, crime is never to be seen and it is safe. I travel alone and have no fears of walking the streets of the towns and villages. There is some beautiful scenery to be discovered and many adventures to have. Get out amongst the locals and enjoy. If staying in Nusa Dua, visit the local village of Bualu, lots of lovely and cheap restaurants and shops, visit a ceremony, ride a bike around the paddies fields, go rafting. soak up the sunsets and sunrises, feed a monkey or two. Walk out to the coral, go on the back of a locals motorbike for a great experience. eat red snapper and nasi goreng, ask for sambal mata but watch out for the heat of it. Breathe in the fragrant fresh air, laugh and smile, you wont be able to help it. Everyone smiles in Bali. Barter with the shopkeepers and keep a sense of humour, they love it. Most of all relax and enjoy the spiritual wellbeing of this wonderful mystical island.

Bali is a small island that offers you plenty things to do other than just laying on the beach, such as: white water rafting, bird watching, visiting temples, bungee jumping, diving and snorkelling. The best place for diving and snorkelling is at Menjangan Island. As for nightlife, loads of clubs to go to and just drink a night away. Accommodations varies from just a basic room to a beach bungalow with private plunge pool. Food is delicious and cheap, you can find any kind of food there, fish and chips, mexican, american, italian, greeks and even there is Hard Rock Cafe. You don't need public transportation as you can go everywhere with taxi or hire a car or motorbike.

I have been to Bali 4 times now, and intend to keep going back because it is a most beautiful destination. This was the best trip, as we went to a small resort in the quiet village of Candi Dasa. Prices are extremely cheap for everything including sightseeing and food. You can hire a car and driver for a whole day for only US$20 (or less if you are prepared to look around). From the resort you can wade straight into the sea from a lovely beach, and within a 50 metre swim is the most beautiful coral and thousands of brightly coloured fish which you can swim through.

Bali is stunning but having been there twice now I know it is easy on a package tour to miss out on a lot of its attractions and possibilities. If you are planning a trip to Bali do yourself a favour and make sure you know before you go so you can make an informed choice about where to stay, what to do, etc. The best way to do this is go surfing through Bali Travelnet.com that covers everything from resort guides to the spa experience and jungle trekking.
