The Galilee was my favorite part of Israel. The Galilee is actually a mosaic of several cultures and religions. It is under reported for good reasons. Despite the rest of the Middle East, the Galilee is very tranquil with Muslims, Jews, Christians, and Druze living side by side in harmony. Make sure to go off the beaten track. Do not be afraid, there have been no reports of violence in the Galilee for decades. Visit the Circassian villages of Kama and Reihaniya or the Alawi village of Gajar. Stay at a Bed and Breakfast at the highest town in Israel, Beit Jahn. It also happens to be a Druze village. Take a water hike through the streams leading into the Sea of Galilee. Visit the mixed town of Pekiyin, where Christians, Druze, and Jews have lived together for centuries.
