SARDINIA HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Sardinia
Despite its size and prominent position in the Mediterranean Sea, about 120 miles west of the Italian Peninsula, Sardinia is often overlooked on the tourism map. The advantage of this is that it remains true to itself, with its own language and elaborate traditions. Although the island has a spectacular coastline and a magnificent mountainousmore

Unspoilt Sardinia - Mark. Date of travel: Jun 2007
I stayed June 2007 in Isola Rossa. Booked with Ryanair flight to Alghero and booked a small independent Hotel in an unknown place called Isola Rossa. There it is just a small quiet fishing village with access to 3 wonderful, clean sandy beaches. People are friendly and the place is not crowded as in Alghero or Santa Teresa. Place for people who seek for quiet location, no pub, no disco, no noise in the morning.

Sardinian Disappointment - Keith Sturley. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Sardinia has a wonderful coastline with good beaches which were clean and uncrowded. Inland there are mountains which are attractive although little attempt has been made to provide any view points for tourists to stop the car and admire the view. The roads were in general reasonably surfaced and had little traffic on them. The superstradas were excellent, although few petrol stations on them. Unfortunately our holiday was spoiled by two things; the amount of rubbish at the sides of many roads that had been just left there, more seriously by fly tipping everywhere, the Sardinians have a beautiful island and they don't seem to look after it at all. We simply could not believe the quantity of debris everywhere, the Sardinians need to clean their act up. In addition everwhere there are buildings that have not been finished, the whole place is like a building site where the workers have just abandoned the work site. Quite common to see building materials next to a half completed building covered in weeds because they had been there so long, and obviously no work had been done for a long time. Why they do this is a mystery to us. They also ruin the appearance of their towns inland by allowing the skyline to be spoiled by the presence of ugly tower blocks. Olbia airport is new and clean, but not a luggage trolley in sight for our cases on the return journey on Saturday 9th Sept 2006. We are passionate about Italy and have enjoyed many excellent holidays there, and expected Sardinia to be of a similar standard. We will not be returning and would advise anyone who doesn't just want to lay on a beach to strongly consider whether this is the right choice.

We were treated to knowledgeable staff when we called the specialists Just Sardinia and had one of the best holidays ever touring. The island has very friendly people, great food and wine, fabulous beaches and lots of history. Thoroughly recommended! Tour Operator: Just Sardinia

Pefect for chilling and sunbathing - Jo Allen. Date of travel: Jul 1999
I travelled to Sardinia with family but my sister lived out there for 4 years so we had travelled out there quite a lot. It's beautiful, peaceful and in some parts breath taking... we travelled around the island as we were there for 4 weeks. In all fairness there isn't a great deal to do except chill and sun-bathe. It's lovely if you just want to chill away from the hustle and bustle of a normal holiday. Tour Operator: Holiday Options
