Tuscany
Tuscany is Italy’s most desirable touring province, a veritable library of travel books and articles having been dedicated to this sunny region with its distinctive relaxed lifestyle. A dream holiday in Tuscany is spent sitting in the sunshine on the balcony of a faded villa overlooking olive groves, strolling the streets of historic towns andmore
Montepulciano, Tuscany - Amanda . Date of travel: Jul 2009
When in Rome I hired a car and planned to drive up to Pisa. I wanted to break up the trip and decided to stop in Tuscany in a village called Montepulciano. What attracted me to this village was the beautiful Tuscan countryside and wine country. Upon arrival it was exciting to learn that the latest Twilight Movie "New Moon" had been filmed there in 2009. The town had plenty to offer, and I had only planned to spend a few hours there but ended up spending all day. Lovely restaurants with private terraces overlooking the stunning Tuscan countryside, narrow cobblestoned allyways lined with unique little shops, wine tasting and beautiful "not to be missed" views from any side of the town. Just 1 and a half hours drive on the Auto Strada from Rome, it is definitely a not to miss location in Tuscany.
Excellent wine tour, made for wonderful day - Gregory Buck. Date of travel: Oct 2008
My wife and I recently took the Tuscan Wine tour with Rebecca. We were picked up at the meeting place in Siena on time by this warm, friendly person who spoke perfect English. We had booked our tour on-line and everything turned even better than advertised. The small, joinable group Brunello tour was one of the high lights of our European vacation. My wife is a Brazilian and some times very insecure about her English. But the small group (8 max) was perfect. Everyone was happy to be there, friendly, and very positive. This ensured a very pleasurable tour. We visited 2 vineyards and sampled the wine in a very beautiful setting where we could enjoy the scenic Tuscan views. The wine was excellent (truly wish I could get Brunello here in Oklahoma) and Rebecca was a very informative and warm host. If you ever visit Tuscany and are looking for activities, this tour really needs to be on your itinerary!! (notice the double exclamation points, indicating excellence in the extreme). Even after seeing the Vatican and their wonderful works of art, this was still a highlight we will always remember. Great fun!
