Tokyo
Outwardly drab and dull, the megalopolis of Tokyo, capital of Japan, is a seething anthill of humanity, but everything is organised and everyone on the sidewalks, subways and congested streets seems to have a purpose. With glitzy shops, vending machines for everything imaginable and bright neon lights, a holiday in Tokyo is an urbanite’s dreamscape, more
Tokyo, Japan - Jane Seymour. Date of travel: Mar 2009
Really loved Tokyo - what an amazing city! Fabulous sights, shopping, food! Only gripe is that everything is hideously expensive - dinner for 2 at a nice restaurant comes up to $500! But then everything is of the highest quality, so it really is worth it.
Tokyo for business - JDK. Date of travel: Jan 2008
What can I say? It is Tokyo... everyone must experience it.

We stayed in Tokyo for five weeks. At first, it was a bit intimidating to take the train, but everyone is very friendly and willing to help point you in the right direction. Few speak English, but a Japanese phrase book will take you far. Bring your most comfortable walking shoes!! They have a lot of the necessities that we are used to back home, so pack light. The weather is perfect during October and November. We also went to see the shrines in the city of Nikko--not to be missed! Lastly, leave lots of room in your suitcase because the shopping here is second to none.
