I can imagine that Langkawi was once an awe inspiring destination but visitors have made it what it is today. Still beautiful but not exceptional. However, we stayed in Datai bay and the hotel is incorporated into the rainforest. We could sit and watch Dusky Monkey's, Hornbills, Fish Eagles ........I won't go on there is not enough space. You literally trip over the wildlife here. Beautiful beaches and gorgeous banana fritters from the road side hawker stalls. Definitley worth a visit especially if you can stay at the Datai.
