I love the Copper Canyon area. It is home to the Tarahumara people. The 'people who run', interesting natives who live the mountains and canyons here. The landscape itself is drastic. Creel is at the rim of the canyon. Small town deep with culture. Batoplias is in the canyon. I went during semana santa (easter week). The big party holiday for Mexico. Drunken people everywhere. Music and dance. Old pagan rituals mixed with catholicism. A western feel with Pancho Villa the icon.
