Windhoek
The capital of Namibia, Windhoek is a clean and tidy town sporting some German colonial buildings interspersed with new-looking modern buildings in its pleasant downtown area. Not many visitors choose to holiday in Windhoek as such, but use it rather as a gateway to the rest of this fascinating country, perhaps spending a day ormore two enjoying the tasty German cuisine and local beer in between some shopping sprees, sightseeing and people-watching.
