Huaraz Region
Anyone who enjoys foot-slogging should pack their hiking boots and take a holiday in the Huaraz region of Peru to trek through magnificent mountain scenery, peppered with lakes, picturesque villages and even some archaeological sites associated with the ancient Chavin civilization. This area, encompassing the Huascaran National Park, is a superb place to experience themore

hi, My name is Eliott and i am studying Tourism at University. I visited a lot of places in Peru.I spent about one week in HUARAZ.. actually a nearby town called ANTA and the view of the Huascaran mountain is spectacular. We also visited CHANCOS, a small town that has natually hot spring water. In case you don't know it is kind of hard to find hot water on the sierras. Llanganuco is a must see!! It is paradise! Huaraz is situated in fabulous hiking country. You can get all your supplies and everything you need for the trail before heading out into the mountains - fantastic scenery, but you will probably need to acclimatise to the altitude. Very remote and not crowded with gringos.
