Loved the Lechon Baboy from the local grills, scrumptious! Crispy on the outside and oh so tender on the inside. We also loved diving on Mactan. Try diving right next to the Hilton - I think it was called SeaExplorers. In any case, go to the Hilton on Mactan and they are right next door. They offer reasonable prices and decent equipment. Spending the day at Hadsan beach was also a treat. Cold San Miguels, lots of sun, wonderful service and of course heaps of snorkelling. Relaxing at the Thai Massage place at Marina Mall was also brilliant. For less than 200 pesos we had full body massages. It’s so good it became a daily habit for my wife and me.

Cebu is fantastic. I recommend you go diving on Mactan Island, eat from the many grills (BBQs) and enjoy the warmth of the friendly locals.

Found a place in the heart of Uptown district in Cebu City, El Gecko Restobar. A popular haunt of expats and locals with great international food, the cheapest beer in town, 30 peso and fantastic people. Multi screen TVs playing music DVDs and very welcoming staff!! I was new to the city and the regulars helped me with everything I wanted to know. Accommodation, places to see, etc. Big shout out to the owner, Marc, who even jumped in a cab with me and took me to a club. He stayed for a couple of beers until I met some people then went off back to work. Amazing bloke!!! Check it out!!! (Note: review posted by owner!)
