Espiche, Prais de luz - Jackie Athey. Date of travel: Jul 2006
It is a shame this area has been overdeveloped and still is being overdeveloped. Every resort is being developed even more, with cranes in every skyline. We didnt visit one village or resort which was not being repaved or the road being resurfaced which made this a difficult holiday with someone with walking difficulties. I thought this might have been just this year however, having spoken to others who have holidays in the Algarve its appear this happens every year. Espiche village is being developed I think because they are runing out of space in Prais de luz. Tour Operator: Simply Travel

Casa-Penn at Rocha Brava in Carvoeiro is my kinda place - Paula Colling. Date of travel: Sep 2005
The Rocha Brava complex is extremely well kept, clean and has a nice serenity about it, feels very classy. The 3 swimming pools are all good and each have separate kiddie paddling pools. The Reception staff at the complex couldn't be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Theres also some very picturesque beaches close by especially the beautiful Marinha beach.
Carvoeiro village is very pretty and has a wealth of nice restaurants, it was difficult to choose where to eat as there are so many good ones.

We stayed in the quiet resort of Praie do Gale which is about 6 miles west of Albufeira. The big attraction is the miles of golden sands on the uncrowded beach. There are a couple of supermarkets, a few good restaurants and a couple bars. The emphasis is certainly on a relaxing and carefee holiday. Not really suitable for anyone wanting nightlife. There are a few buses to Albufeira each day and if you fancy a lively evening you get a bus about 6 o'clock and return by taxi. For us this was a fabulous relaxing holiday. Tour Operator: Golden Sun
