I loved the atmosphere, the people, the food, the bright colours of the vegetation, the sun, the wide highways, the tropical storms, the music of Puerto Rico. It is a happy island. You can find dream white sand beaches and just half an hour drive away a majestic rain forest and imperious waterfalls. I think the best option in Puerto Rico is to hire a car. I went all around the coast in about 4 days and spent the other 4 between the rain forest and San Juan. But if you have more time it is definitely worth a much longer stay. You can chase thrilling sunsets along the cost and then come back to the city for the best food and music. The smaller islands are also a must!

Recommend riding the ducks in Puerto Rico! These are (brand new) amphibious vehicles on which one can take tour excursions. Great fun especially for families and a reasonable price.
