TRANSYLVANIA HOLIDAY REVIEWS

This is something really different and great fun! A day-tour (took 10 hours) "walking in Dracula's footsteps" through the castles of Peles, Brasov and Bran (where the Dracula legend began). Also visit Sinaia the beautiful former residence of Romanian Royalty. The old town of Brasov, where we had lunch, is full of atmosphere with its ancient buildings and the Black Church. You can sign up for the tour at your hotel in Bucharest, and get picked up at 8am. It costs 240 Euros which includes lunch and entrance fees, and is well worth it.

By far the most commercialised region in terms of tourism in Romania; great skiing in winter and summer sight seeing: mountains and lakes. If you want a cheap holiday with breathtaking scenery and friendly locals, this is for you. You are safe to go it alone or take an organised tour. tThe place is teeming with European tourists, both summer and winter. Loads of information available on the internet. Travel and accommodation in this area matches many standards in other European destinations. Big hotels and small. If you have been to Greece or Croatia and loved it you will find it much the same in many ways except no beaches here. Try visiting the city of Cluj where there is an international airport. Transfers are regular from Bucharest and Budapest. Its the region's capital and is a thriving city with great bars and restaurants and interesting buildings, loads of shops and more. Have fun and discover this place before it gets too commercialised. Tour Operator: my own steam
