Bratislava
The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava is an historic city dominated by a medieval castle and some worthy Gothic architecture around its central square. On holiday in Bratislava don’t miss an outing by tram up to Koliba, a forested knoll from which there are great views to be had, and a short ski run for wintermore

Bratislava - James Allen. Date of travel: Jun 2007
It's easy to get to Bratislava now with all the budget airlines flying there, we flew with SkyEurope who are pretty good. Bratislava is perfect for a long weekend with good bars and excellent restaurants, all pretty inexpensive even in the old town, which is gearing up more and more for tourists from all over Europe. Daytime, its worth going to the Castle and the UFO (on the Novy Most) for view over the city. Also worth visiting Devin Castle, just a bus ride away. Its also a good place to stay if you fancy a day trip to Vienna as we did. Coach, train and boats take you there in about an hour and half (although the boat trip has to be booked in advance). Nightlife is very good on Friday and Saturday, but quiet on other days.
